Snapshots (Versioning) for Version 8.0
About Snapshots (Versioning)
Illustrations used in this article are from OnePager Pro using data from Microsoft Project but the features, function, controls, and manual edits apply equally to other OnePager editions that import from data sources like Microsoft Excel, Smartsheet, Oracle Primavera P6, Microsoft Planner, Planisware Enterprise, Asana, and Wrike.
OnePager can save versions of source plans called snapshots which represent the state of a project through time. Snapshots are contained in the OnePager chart as its .TAM file. Once snapshots are taken they can be edited in the Chart Editor.
Additionally, snapshots can be updated as described in the appropriate articles at:
| Basic Workflows (Portal) 7.0.1-80 |
Sometimes you have to change the date of a snapshot or delete snapshots that are no longer needed.
Changing a Snapshot's Date and Name
You can easily change the date of an existing snapshot from the form that lists the snapshot dates. To do this, go to the OnePager View ribbon tool bar tab and click the List All button in the tab's Snapshots group as shown below:

Clicking the List All button on the View ribbon tool bar tab accesses the Manage Snapshots form as shown here:

Changing a Snapshot Date
When the Manage Snapshots form opens, the current snapshot date and name (optional) is visible in the Chart Editor, and is automatically shown in the above form. Click the desired snapshot date to access the Calendar Date Picker form. Use the Date picker form to select a new snapshot date as shown below:

Changing a Snapshot Name
You can also edit a snapshot's name by accessing the Manage Snapshots form, clicking on the desired Snapshot Name cell and type in the new snapshot name as shown below:

Deleting a Snapshot
To delete a snapshot, select it with a left-click in the Select column's checkbox to make the checkbox ON. To complete the delete snapshot operation, click the Delete Snapshot(s) button and when finished with all editing click the OK button on the form as shown below:

Clicking the OK button on the Manage Snapshots prompts a OnePager message asking for you to confirm your requested Delete action as shown here:

Clicking the OK button on the form deletes the snapshot from the chart. Once you save the chart using the Chart Editor, the deleted snapshots is no longer accessible. If, however, you have deleted a snapshot but have not yet saved the chart file using the Chart Editor, the UNDO function restores the deleted snapshot so that it can be further accessed. As an alternative, you can just exit OnePager without saving the chart and then re-open the chart.
Deleting All Snapshots
OnePager does not permit you to delete all snapshots. Should this action be attempted, the message shown below is displayed:

Sorting Columns in the Manage Snapshots Form
Like many forms in OnePager, clicking the column headers of the Snapshots Date, Snapshot Name, and Display columns changes the sort sequence of the column clicked and the associated columns in the grid.
For example, starting out with the Manage Snapshots form shown below, we can change the sort sequence by clicking the Snapshot Name column header:

After making a left-click in the Manage Snapshot form's Snapshot Name column, the form looks like this:

As might be expected, making a single left-click in in the Snapshot Date column changes the sort sequence of the grid as shown below:

General Caution on the Number of Snapshots Per Chart
As a general finding, having more than five (5) snapshots in an single OnePager chart file can have an impact on OnePager's performance on your computer. Of course, this also depends on the size and complexity of the chart and its constituent snapshots. Our recommendation is, therefore, to keep the number of snapshots per chart at or below five (5).
