Basic Workflows for Version 8.0 (Portal)
Overview
The articles available in the link below cover a few ways of creating and updating charts and snapshots:
| Getting Started (Portal) |
The article links in the next several sections that follow provide you with access to more detailed information and instructions on how to use OnePager for:
- Creating NEW charts
- OPENING existing charts
- ADDING snapshots
- REPLACING snapshots
- Using the Pull-Operation Feature
- Using the Conditional Import Rules feature
There are essentially six (6) workflows categories you can use. The Conditional Import Rules feature can be used on all these workflow categories. Of course, OnePager's flexibility allows you to innovate on your own. Clicking on any of the links in the next section accesses articles where you'll find flow diagrams and a step-by-step procedures on how to accomplish the workflows. At the end of this article are links to cautionary articles dealing with merging wrong source plan tasks during chart updates. It is recommended that these articles be reviewed.
The article links in the following sections use OnePager Pro Add-in to illustrate the basic workflows typically used to open existing charts, add snapshots to existing charts, and replacing snapshots in existing charts. The Basic Workflows covered in these articles apply equally to other OnePager editions that import from data sources like Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Planner, Oracle Primavera P6, Smartsheet, Planisware Enterprise, Asana, and Wrike.
Creating a NEW Chart
This sub-section provides links to articles covering the creation of new charts from Microsoft Project (includes .mpp and .xml files), Microsoft Excel, Oracle Primavera P6, Smartsheet, Microsoft Planner, Planisware Enterprise, Asana, and Wrike.

Using the Pull Operation Feature
Using the OnePager Conditional Import Rules Feature
The Conditional Import Rules feature gives you the capability to specify a set of rules for OnePager to use to control the data imported from your source plans at the time OnePager is launched. The Conditional Import Rules feature is easy to use and is an alternative to the process of establishing a Flag field to control source plan task/milestone imports. Further, the Conditional Import Rules can be changed at any time without the need to make a change to your source plan. This means that you have to option to create different charts from the same source plan by merely making alterations to the Conditional Import Rules.
For more information on Conditional Import Rules, please see the articles at:
| Conditional Import Filters (Portal) |
The Conditional Import Rules feature can be used with OnePager Pro, OnePager Express, and OnePager Bundle for all source plan types.
Using the OnePager Artificial Intelligence Assistant for Task Selection
In Version 8.0 we introduce the new Artificial Intelligence Task Selection Assistant to help you with task selection in the OnePager choices form associated with OnePager Pro Standalone, OnePager Express Standalone, and OnePager Bundle.
For more information on Artificial Intelligence Assistant, please see the articles at:
| Task Selection Using Artificial Intelligence (AI) Import Filtering |
Using the In-Chart Filtering Feature
The In-Chart Filtering feature provides you with the capability to conditionally display the contents of the Chart Area base on logical association between imported task and milestone properties.
This feature only impacts the Chart Area’s contents in terms of what task bars and milestone symbols are shown in the Chart and which are hidden as a result of the application of the active Custom Display Filter form’s rule contents.
For simplicity, the Custom Display Filter form is modeled on the Conditional Import Rules form. However, this feature provides the capability for you to create, select, clear, edit, and delete any number of named Conditional Display Filter forms that you can apply to the Chart Editor in either its normal mode or Presentation Mode.
Display Filtering does not change the contents of imported tasks and milestones and their associated properties. The feature is focused on what task bar and milestone symbols are displayed in the Chart Area. As a result, the content of any Graphs & Data Cells present in the Chart’s Graph Area are unchanged.

Creating & Editing Graphs & Data Cells in OnePager Charts
Also in Version 8.0 we introduce the capability to create and edit graphs and data cells in a OnePager chart. This feature is available in all editions of OnePager and is supported for all source plan types with the exception of Microsoft Planner source plan.
For more information on the Graphs and Data Cells feature, please see the article at:

Correcting Corrupted TAM Files
On occasion a TAM file created when a chart is first created can get corrupted due to the adding of snapshots or due to other artifacts of the OPEN or UPDATE processes. OnePager, when a corrupted TAM is encountered, attempts to repair the TAM and provides you with the following message:
| TAM Corruption Message |
|---|
| We have detected data integrity issues with this chart. We are attempting to repair it, which may take several minutes.
Please be patient until this process finishes. Once the repair is complete, you should be able to save and reopen your chart normally. |
Merging the Wrong Tasks
In addition, it is recommended that you review the following articles related to merging the wrong tasks into existing charts for OnePager Pro, OnePager Express, OnePager Bundle - Oracle Primavera P6, OnePager Bundle - Smartsheet, OnePager Bundle - Project for the Web, OnePager Bundle - Planisware Enterprise, OnePager Bundle - Asana, and OnePager Bundle - Wrike:
