Overview

OnePager Pro, Express, and Bundle have a new feature that allows you to highlight a task bar or milestone symbol that is 100% Complete with a Checkmark Decoration enclosed in a circle. When the Master Switch for this feature is turned ON as described below, OnePager automatically adds the Checkmark Decoration to any task bar or milestone symbol that achieves 100% Complete status in the chart/snapshot based upon imported source plan data.

The purpose of this article is to introduce this feature and provide examples of its use.

The examples used here are from OnePager Pro using Microsoft Project as the source plan. The feature as described works exactly the same for source plans from Microsoft Excel, Oracle Primavera P6, and Smartsheet handled by OnePager Express and OnePager Bundle.

Introduction

The Percent Complete Decoration in OnePager for a task bar is represented by a bar positioned at the bottom of the task bar as shown below:

P71-0 4 5-71-(1A)-11152021.png
P71-0_4_5-71-(1A)-11152021.png

In the illustration above, task bar progress is shown using the yellow bar at the bottom of each task bar. Task bars without a yellow bar either have not started or may not have any progress reported for them.

In OnePager you can show the numeric value of the percent complete in the task bar label by using appropriate controls in the Template Properties form or the Chart Properties form as described for the Chart Properties form in the article at: Percent complete for OnePager 10.3.1-71.

An example using the above illustration with percent complete values showing in the task bar label looks like this:

P71-0 4 5-71-(1B)-11152021.png
P71-0_4_5-71-(1B)-11152021.png

Above, OnePager displays the percent complete value for each task bar which can provide a more complete representation of task bar status in the chart.

When tasks are complete and the chart is updated, the task bars in the Planning Phase, for example, show the yellow bar at the bottom of the task bar filling the space from task bar start date to the task bar finish date as shown in the example below:

P71-0 4 5-71-(1C)-11152021.png
P71-0_4_5-71-(1C)-11152021.png

Examination of the illustration above shows that completed task bars have the yellow bar extending the width of the task bar. If the schedule discussion requires emphasizing the completion of these task bars, the percent complete value can again be added to the task bar label as shown here:

P71-0 4 5-71-(1D)-11152021.png
P71-0_4_5-71-(1D)-11152021.png

When the Checkmark Decoration for completed task bars is turned ON and the percent complete value is turned OFF in the task bar label, task bars that are 100% Complete are shown in the chart like this:

P71-0 4 5-71-(1E)-11152021.png
P71-0_4_5-71-(1E)-11152021.png

The Checkmark Decoration is a concise, easily discussed, and visible marker for showing a task bar as 100% Complete.

The remainder of this article shows you how to enable and disable the Checkmark Decoration feature in the chart.

Turning the Checkmark Decoration Feature's "Master Switch" ON and OFF

Controls for turning the Checkmark Decoration feature ON and OFF are contained in the Template Properties and Chart Properties form’s Task Bars and Milestones tabs in their Task Bar Decorations or Milestone Symbol Decorations sub-sections as shown below using the Chart Properties form:

P71-0 4 5-71-(1)-11112021.png
P71-0_4_5-71-(1)-11112021.png

In the above illustration, the % Complete checkbox is checked ON which enables the %Complete Properties… button that accesses the Set percent-complete properties form as shown below:

P71-0 4 5-71-(2)-11112021.png
P71-0_4_5-71-(2)-11112021.png

Checking the Add checkmark if complete checkbox ON, as shown in the illustration below, tells OnePager to automatically place Checkmark Decorations on all 100% Complete task bars and/or milestone symbols.

P71-0 4 5-71-(2A)-11152021.png
P71-0_4_5-71-(2A)-11152021.png

As a further example, suppose we have the Microsoft Project source plan shown below which has three task bars 100% Complete:

P71-0 4 5-71-(3)-11112021.png
P71-0_4_5-71-(3)-11112021.png

With the Add checkmark if complete checkbox checked ON, the OnePager chart looks like this:

P71-0 4 5-71-(4)-11112021.png
P71-0_4_5-71-(4)-11112021.png

Unchecking the Add checkmark if complete checkbox to OFF in the Set percent-complete properties form disables the Checkmark Decoration feature and the checkmark decoration is not shown in the chart for task bars that are 100% Complete.

Editing the Checkmark Decoration Feature in the Chart

Under some schedule discussion situations you may want to turn OFF the Checkmark Decoration for a particular task bar or milestone symbol. This can be accomplished in the Chart Editor by selecting the task bar/milestone symbol that is 100% Complete and displaying the checkmark decoration and using the right-click context menu to access the Change Task/Milestone Properties form at the Percent Complete tab as shown below:
