Introduction
Overview
+
This article is divided into two major sections below. The first major section is for OnePager Pro Add-in and the second major section is for OnePager Pro Desktop. Please use this link to skip the OnePager Pro Add-in section immediately below to go to the OnePager Pro Desktop section at: Overview Flow Chart for OnePager Pro Desktop.

1) When text column cells and swimlane level cells appear in the chart their contents are determined by data imported from your Microsoft Project or Microsoft Excel source plan.
+

2) It may be necessary on occasion to edit the contents of these cells to support your schedule presentation goals and objectives.
+

+

3) It is not necessary to go back to your source plan and change the data and re-import that data to change text column cell labels or swimlane level cell labels; changes can be made to individual or a set of selected cells in the Chart Editor.
+
Procedure
4) Within the Chart Editor, you can use the text column right-click context menu’s Edit text and Properties … commands or the swimlane level right-click context menu’s Edit swimlane label and Properties … commands to edit labels as well as other label properties.
+
Preparing the Microsoft Project Source Plan
5) For more information on using the text column cell label or swimlane level cell label properties, please see the articles at:
+
Launch Microsoft Project and access the required Microsoft Project source plan. Set the Flags/Numbers field into the Microsoft Project source plan. This is the flag that OnePager uses to determine which tasks and milestones to import. Determine which of the tasks and milestones are to be included and set the Flags/Numbers field cell to Yes for these while leaving the remainder of the task's and milestone's Flag field set to No, 0, or blank.

6) In addition to editing text column cell labels and swimlane level cell labels using the right-click context menu commands, you can edit Font properties and Alignment settings of text column cell labels and swimlane level cell labels using controls on the OnePager Home ribbon tool bar tab’s Font and Alignment control groups.
+
Click the OnePager button on the Microsoft Project ADD-INS ribbon tool bar tab to launch OnePager Pro at the OnePager Pro Start form.

7) Since being able to edit text column and swimlane level cells requires first selecting the cells to edit, it may be beneficial to review the sections on selection methods for text column cells and swimlane level cells at: Selection Methods Available for Multiple Text Columns 12.0.2-70 and Selection Methods Available for Multiple Swimlane Levels 12.0.2-70.

8) Whenever you make a change to a text column cell or swimlane level cell, the edited cell becomes a maverick.
+
If you need to adjust settings in the OnePager current Template Properties form before launching OnePager Pro, click the Template... button on the Micosoft Project ADD-INS ribbon tool bar tab accesses a window with the Template Properties form which can be edited and saved.

Editing Individual Text Column Cell Labels Using the Edit text Form
+
The Template Properties form is very similar to the OnePager Chart Properties form which is described elsewhere. Once the desired edits to the current Template Properties form are made, save the Template Properties form and return to paragraph 5) above. At the completion of paragraph 5) when you click the NEW button, OnePager accesses the OnePager choices (OPC) form as shown below:

1) For the purpose of illustration, we’ll use the OnePager Pro chart below containing three swimlane levels and two text columns:
+

+
It is recommended that the chart name selected refer to both the project and, perhaps, be familiar to the audience that is likely to view the completed OnePager chart. Additionally, notice that the Select Tasks with ‘YES’ in field: is showing Flag20 as a default. Most users select Flag20 to tell OnePager which tasks and milestones to import but any of the 20 Flag fields or any of the 20 Number fields can be used. It is important that the Flag field number represented in this window correspond to the Flag field containing the Yes and No data placed in the Microsoft Project source plan.

P70-12_13_1-(17)-07162020.png

+

2) To edit the label of an individual text column cell, right-click the text column cell to access the text column right-click context menu shown below:
+
The Snapshot date represents the time now or as-of date for the chart you are about to create. If the date created by OnePager does not reflect the status date required, change the date by using the calendar dropdown window. As the source plan changes later on, you can create additional snapshots to show changes consistently.

+
Finally, note that the Show field mappings checkbox is checked ON as shown above. Checking this checkbox ON and pressing the Next> button takes you to the second page of the OPC form shown below:

P70-12_3_1-(1)-07222020.png

+

3) After accessing the text column right-click context menu, click the Edit text command shown above to access the Enter text form and its Enter text window that contains the current contents of the selected text column cell as shown here:
+

+
This form allows you to edit which Microsoft Project source plan fields are used for various purposes such as the Start field and the Color by field. The Edit current template button also gives you a second opportunity to edit many more initial properties of the chart by accessing the current Template Properties form. Once these choices are confirmed or edited, click the Create new chart button and OnePager imports the flagged data and creates the chart.

P70-12_3_1-(2)-07222020.png

+

4) To change the contents of the selected text column cell using the above Enter text form, type in the desired text into the Enter text window and click the OK button when finished.
+
Once the chart is created, you can edit by right-clicking task bars and milestone symbols and using the context menus commands. You can also left-click on task bars and milestone symbols and use the editing Icons on the OnePager ribbon tool bar tabs. You can also left-click on a task bar or milestone symbol and use the mouse to drag the selected task bar or milestone symbol up or down from row to row in the chart. When the desired editing is complete, click the Copy to Clipboard button on the OnePager Home ribbon tool bar tab and then paste the chart into a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation, email message, or Microsoft Word document. If the chart contains more than one page, you can choose to copy the entire document, the last page (current page), or a selected numerical page to the clipboard. OnePager can save all charts and snapshots after editing.

Editing Multiple Text Column Cell Labels Using the Edit text Form
+
Preparing The Microsoft Project Source Plan
6) Editing the text column cell labels of multiple text column cells is similar to editing an individual text column cell’s label except that more cells are selected and the change made in the Edit text form’s window is applied to all selected cells.
+
After launching Microsoft Project with your desired source plan, set Flags/Numbers field into the Microsoft Project source plan. This is the Flag that OnePager uses to determine which tasks and milestones to import. Determine which of the tasks and milestones are to be included and set the Flags/Numbers field cell to Yes for these while leaving the remainder of the task's and milestone's Flag field set to No, 0, or blank. At this point your Microsoft Project source plan can be saved and closed. The Desk top version of OnePager Pro does not require that the Microsoft Project source plan be launched first. The part of the procedure described above are in preparation for using the Desk top version of OnePager Pro.

7) If we select a sequence of text column cells using the SHIFT+Left-Click method to select the cells, right-click in one of the selected cells to access the text column right-click context menu, and then click the Edit text command, the chart looks like this:
+
Launching OnePager Pro Desktop
+
Launch OnePager from the Desktop Icon. The OnePager splash page appears briefly followed by the OnePager Chart Editor form displaying the OnePager Pro Start form as shown below:

P70-12_3_1-(5)-07222020.png

+

8) Changing the text in the Edit text window to “Started” and clicking the OK button on the form, changes the text in the selected text column cells as shown below:
+

+

2) The same process can be used for changing the labels on individual swimlane level cells or multiple swimlane level cells depending on the selection method you use.
+
When you click the Open button on the Windows Open form above, OnePager loads the selected Microsoft Project source plan and provide you with the expanded OPC form so that you can confirm or edit the settings before OnePager creates the new chart.

3) The examples that follow illustrate how you can change individual and multiple swimlane level label cells in the chart.

Editing Text Column Cell and Swimlane Level Cell Labels Using the Home Ribbon Tool Bar’s Controls
+

+
1) When either single or multiple text column cell labels or swimlane level cell labels are selected they can be edited in terms of their Font properties and text Alignment using the Font and Alignment control groups on the OnePager Home ribbon tool bar tab as shown below:
+

+

+

P70-12_3_1-(13)-07222020.png

+

+
2) Whenever you select a single or multiple text column cell or swimlane level cell, the two control groups above are enabled and you can use any of the controls shown above to edit the text in the selected cell or cells.
+

+
Editing Font Properties of Text Column Cell Labels or Swimlane Level Cell Labels
+

+
3) Using the edited multiple swimlane level cell labels from the previous sub-section above as an example, we can decrease the font size of the selected labels as shown below:
+

+

+

P70-12_3_1-(14)-07222020.png

+

+
4) Once the desired text column cell labels or swimlane level cell labels are selected, you can use the Font control group’s buttons to edit the label text to Bold, Italics, or Underline; increase or decrease the font size; or access the standard Color Chooser form and change the color of the label itself.
+

+
5) When there are multiple text column cell labels and/or swimlane level cell labels selected, the edit is applied to all selected labels.
+

+
6) Additionally, you can change the font type and its size by using the dropdown windows appearing above the six buttons in the control group.
+

+
7) All these font properties are available in the Font properties form accesses by selecting a task bar/milestone symbol label, time axis cell label, or text within comment boxes as just a few examples.
+

+
8) Any edits made to cell labels using the Home ribbon tool bar tab’s controls are applied to all selected cell labels.
+

+
9) The methodology described above applies as well to editing the Font properties of text column cell labels.
+

+
Editing Alignment Properties of Text Column Cell Labels or Swimlane Level Cell Labels
+

+
10) As mentioned, when a text column cell label or swimlane level cell label is selected, the Alignment control group on the Home ribbon tool bar tab is enabled so you can change the position of the label text within the selected cell.
+

+
11) If we continue with the example from the previous sub-section, we can change the position of all the selected labels to vertically centered and horizontally centered in their respective cells by clicking the two center buttons in each row of the Alignment control group as shown here:
+

+

+

P70-12_3_1-(15)-07222020.png

+

+
12) All the swimlane level cell labels selected in the chart above are repositioned so that their labels are positioned in the center vertically and horizontally within the cell.

Procedure

Preparing the Microsoft Project Source Plan

Launch Microsoft Project and access the required Microsoft Project source plan. Set the Flags/Numbers field into the Microsoft Project source plan. This is the flag that OnePager uses to determine which tasks and milestones to import. Determine which of the tasks and milestones are to be included and set the Flags/Numbers field cell to Yes for these while leaving the remainder of the task's and milestone's Flag field set to No, 0, or blank.

Launching OnePager Pro Add-In

Click the OnePager button on the Microsoft Project ADD-INS ribbon tool bar tab to launch OnePager Pro at the OnePager Pro Start form.

If you need to adjust settings in the OnePager current Template Properties form before launching OnePager Pro, click the Template... button on the Micosoft Project ADD-INS ribbon tool bar tab accesses a window with the Template Properties form which can be edited and saved.

P70-7 1 1-70-(4)-08052019.png

It is recommended that the chart name selected refer to both the project and, perhaps, be familiar to the audience that is likely to view the completed OnePager chart. Additionally, notice that the Select Tasks with ‘YES’ in field: is showing Flag20 as a default. Most users select Flag20 to tell OnePager which tasks and milestones to import but any of the 20 Flag fields or any of the 20 Number fields can be used. It is important that the Flag field number represented in this window correspond to the Flag field containing the Yes and No data placed in the Microsoft Project source plan.

The Snapshot date represents the time now or as-of date for the chart you are about to create. If the date created by OnePager does not reflect the status date required, change the date by using the calendar dropdown window. As the source plan changes later on, you can create additional snapshots to show changes consistently.

Finally, note that the Show field mappings checkbox is checked ON as shown above. Checking this checkbox ON and pressing the Next> button takes you to the second page of the OPC form shown below:

P70-7 1 1-70-(5)-08052019.png

This form allows you to edit which Microsoft Project source plan fields are used for various purposes such as the Start field and the Color by field. The Edit current template button also gives you a second opportunity to edit many more initial properties of the chart by accessing the current Template Properties form. Once these choices are confirmed or edited, click the Create new chart button and OnePager imports the flagged data and creates the chart.

Procedure

Preparing The Microsoft Project Source Plan

Launching OnePager Pro Desktop

Launch OnePager from the Desktop Icon. The OnePager splash page appears briefly followed by the OnePager Chart Editor form displaying the OnePager Pro Start form as shown below:

At the completion of paragraph 6) when you click the “NEW” button, OnePager displays an abbreviated OnePager choices (OPC) form.

When you click the Select button shown above, OnePager then provides a dropdown menu for you to either choose to use the BROWSE FILES... to select a source plan or click the RECENT MS Project Files... option to access Microsoft Project Server source files as shown above. Clicking the BROWSE FILES… option as shown above accesses a Windows Open form where you can select a Microsoft Project source plan to load as shown here:

P70-7 1 2-70-(4)-08052019.png

When you click the Open button on the Windows Open form above, OnePager loads the selected Microsoft Project source plan and provide you with the expanded OPC form so that you can confirm or edit the settings before OnePager creates the new chart.

As shown above, OnePager displays the loaded Microsoft Project source plan in the Selected File(s) group of the OPC form. You can use the Add/Remove feature (described elsewhere) to edit the choice of Microsoft Project source plan, add additional files to the source packet, and remove files. Clicking the Add/Modify button accesses the Data source selection form as shown below:

As the source plan changes later on, you can create additional snapshots to show changes consistently.

Finally, note that the Show file mappings checkbox is checked ON as shown above. Checking this checkbox ON and pressing the Next> button takes you to the second page of the OPC form shown below:

This form allows you to edit which Microsoft Project source plan fields are used for various purposes such as the Start field and the Color by field. The Edit current template button also gives you a second opportunity to edit many more initial properties of the chart by accessing the current Template Properties form. Once these choices are confirmed or edited, click the Create new chart button and OnePager imports the flagged data and creates the chart.

Once the chart is created, you can edit by right-clicking task bars and milestone symbols and using the context menus commands. You can also left-click on task bars and milestone symbols and use the editing Icons on the OnePager ribbon tool bar tabs.
