About the Corner for OnePager Pro
Template Properties and Chart Properties Forms Time Axis Tabs
+
The upper left and lower left corners of the chart (called The Corner) have three alternative uses:

One Pager Express has always supported date labeling in both calendar year and fiscal year formats.  Fiscal year formats are available for date labeling in each of the three Time Axis Levels and their Cells.
+
:1) To show Time Axis Unit’s Labels.
In OnePager Express the controls for the Time Axis are reorganized to consolidate them in their own Template Properties form and Chart Properties form tabs.  Although consolidated, there are two sub-tabs in the Time Axis tab for both the Template Properties and Chart Properties forms that have settings related to Fiscal Year appearance in Time Axis Levels.
+

Calendar Sib-Tab Fiscal Year Controls
+
:2) To provide the Heading Names for Swimlane Level Labels and Text Columns.

The Calendar sub-tab’s Calendar Settings group has two controls related to Fiscal year as shown below:
+
:3) To provide a blank area into which you can insert your own text statements.

<center></center>
+
To customize the Corner, access the Chart Properties form's Main tab.  The radio buttons for designating the use of The Corner are shown below:
<!--<center>X70-22_2_2-70-(1)-11162020.png</center>-->
+

Use the First month of fiscal year to set the beginning month of your fiscal year period using the 12 month dropdown shown above. Checking the Use starting year for FY numbering checkbox ON establishes the ending year number as the name of the fiscal year shown in Time Axis Level Cells.  Leaving this checkbox unchecked OFF specifies that the starting year number is to be used as the name of the fiscal year shown in Time Axis Level Cells.

Top, Middle, and Bottom Level Time Axis Sub-Tab Fiscal Year Controls
+
Swimlane Level Label Headings and Text Column Label Headings
The Top, Middle, and Bottom sub-tabs in the Time Axis tab also have two controls related to setting Fiscal year date formats as shown here for the Middle sub-tab:
+
Selecting the Swimlane/text column headings radio button causes the chart to show swimlane level label headings and text column label headings.  If row and swimlane level labels are not displayed, that is, turned OFF in the Chart Properties form's Rows/Swimlanes tab, The Corner is not available for either Time Axis Unit Labels or Row/Swimlane Headings.  If either the text columns labels or the swimlane level labels are displayed, either is turned ON in the Chart Properties form's Rows/Swimlanes tab,  The Corner is available and can be used for any of the three uses.

<center></center>

7) The example below shows The Corner being used for row text column headings and swimlane level label headings:
<!--<center>X70-22_2_2-70-(2)-11162020.png</center>-->
+

The two controls shown above are in each of the three Time Axis Level sub-tabs. When the Use fiscal year checkbox is checked ON, the adjacent Label format list contains fiscal year date formats you can select to populate that Time Axis Level’s Cells.

Task Bar and Milestone Symbol Fiscal Year Date Decorations
+
Time-unit Labels
Additionally, you have the option to show fiscal year date labels on task bars and milestone symbols when you select to include dates as part of task bars/milestone symbol's decorations such as Date labels, Baselines, Deadlines, and Endpoints (4 in total).
+
Selecting the Time-unit labels radio button causes the Time Axis Unit Labels to show in The Corner.  In this mode, Time Axis Unit Labels cannot be hidden.

The Template Properties and Chart Properties form both have Task Bars and Milestones tabs each with a Task Bars or Milestone Symbols Decorations control group as shown below for the Chart Properties form’s Task Bars tab:
+
However, Time Axis Levels, including the Time Axis Unit Labels can be hidden by using the controls provided in the Chart Properties form's Time Axis tab's Top, Middle, or Bottom level sub-tabs to hide the entire Time Axis Level.

<center></center>

+

The Milestones tab differs from the Task Bars tab in that the Milestones tab does not have a Critical Path Properties or Endpoint Properties set of controls in its Milestone Symbols Decorations control group.
+
The example below shows The Corner displaying Time Axis Unit Labels:
Within the four sets of controls shown highlighted above are checkboxes for turning the feature ON and OFF and buttons for accessing their respective Set … properties forms which contain the controls for setting fiscal year date formats for the specific task bar/milestone symbol decoration.
+

For more information on the operation of fiscal year date format controls, please see this section in the article at:  About Fiscal Years and Weeks <!--22.2.2-70-->

Selecting the Neither radio button option tells OnePager to transform The Corner into a blank space whose size depends on your selection for displaying rows and swimlane levels. The example below shows The Corner configured to span both text column label headers and swimlane level label headers:

As mentioned above, the controls for globally editing the fiscal year date format configuration of the three OnePager Express Time Axis Levels are in the Template Properties form and Chart Properties form Time Axis tab’s Calendar sub-tab and the three Level sub-tabs (Top, Middle, and Bottom).  The Chart Properties form for these tabs and sub-tabs is shown above.
+
Editing Corner Properties
There are two steps required to change the default calendar year date format settings in the three Time Axis Levels to fiscal year date formats.  First, select the First month of the fiscal year using the dropdown selection control in the Calendar Settings sub-group of the Calendar sub-tab of the Time Axis tab and decide if the fiscal year date format for the year should name the starting year or ending year in the appropriate Time Axis Level Cell’s date format:
+
To edit The Corner, first right-click on any element of The Corner being displayed.

<center></center>
+
The Edit Corner Properties Form
<!--<center>X70-22_2_2-70-(4)-11162020.png</center>-->
+

The second step is to go to the first Time Axis Level and set the Use fiscal year checkbox to ON and select the desired fiscal year date format from the Label format dropdown:
+
The Corner can be selected with a right-click in any part of The Corner to access the Edit corner properties form shown below:

<center></center>
+
<center></center>
<!--<center>X70-22_2_2-70-(5)-11162020.png</center>-->
+
<!--<center>P70-22_2_3-70-(5-1)-10302020.png</center>-->

Repeat the above step for the Middle Time Axis Level and Bottom Time Axis Level where appropriate and the resulting Time Axis in the chart reflects the fiscal year date format settings as shown in the example below:
+
The Edit corner properties form has the following uses:

<center></center>
+
:1) Modify The Corner element's text content.
<!--<center>X70-22_2_2-70-(6)-11162020.png</center>-->
+

For comparative purposes, if you go back to the Calendar sub-tab and check the Use starting year for fiscal year numbering checkbox to ON, the Top Time Axis Level date label changes to that shown below:
+
:2) Change text font properties with the standard Font Properties form.

<center></center>
+
:3) Change the alignment of the text.
<!--<center>X70-22_2_2-70-(7)-11162020.png</center>-->
+

In the above illustration the Top Time Axis Level’s date format shows the starting year for the year date format.  The Middle and Bottom Time Axis Level date formats are unchanged and the Use fiscal year checkbox in each of these two Time Axis Levels remains checked ON. If we revert the year numbering of the Top Time Axis Level to ending year and go to the Middle Time Axis Level and uncheck the Use fiscal year checkbox to OFF, the Time Axis looks like this as annotated below:
+
:4) Change the background color of The Corner.

<center></center>
+
:5) Change the Rotation of text in The Corner.
<!--<center>X70-22_2_2-70-(8)-11162020.png</center>-->
+

Although there are no OnePager provided Fiscal Year date format types for Months, Weeks, etc., you have the capability to create your own using the Custom Date Format feature.  Below is an illustration shown where you can access the Custom Date Format feature from the Chart Properties form:

Fiscal Year Configuration in the Chart
+
Editing Text Column/Swimlane Level Label Headings in the Corner
The previous section above described the configuration of fiscal year date formats for Time Axis Levels.  This section covers the configuration of date formats in the graph where it is desired to represent fiscal years versus calendar years in dates associated with decorations on task bars and milestone symbols.  Date labels are represented in a standard way for any task bar/milestone symbol or decoration that have a date association in the chart.  These include:
+
When The Corner is displaying Text Columns Label Headings and/or Swimlane Level Label Headings, right-clicking on any Text Columns Label Heading and/or Swimlane Level Label Heading again accesses the Edit corner properties form as shown below:

* Task Bars/Milestone Symbols start and finish dates
+
<center></center>
* Baseline start and finish dates
+
<!--<center>P70-22_2_3-70-(5B)-10302020.png</center>-->
* Deadline date
+
* Endpoint (4 in total) date
+

For all but Time Axis Levels, you have the capability to specify the position of dates with respect to the task bar, milestone symbol, or decoration and their date font properties.  Task bars/milestone symbols and their associated decorations (baselines, deadlines, and endpoints) have their date label characteristics specified globally by following these steps.  Access the Chart Properties clicking the button on the OnePager Home ribbon tool bar tab.  This accesses the Chart Properties form where you can select either the Task Bars tab or the Milestones tab to gain access to the appropriate decorations group of the form as shown below:
+
When the Time Axis or Text Columns and/or Swimlane Label Headings are being displayed at both the top and bottom of the chart and you want to make a change to any of these elements and, further, you want the change to be shown both at the top and bottom of the chart, the change must be individually applied to the Top and Bottom Time Axes separately.

<center></center>
+
Notes
<!--<center>X70-22_2_2-70-(3)-11162020.png</center>-->
+

When any decoration checkbox is checked ON, the associated Properties buttons to the right is enabled so you can access the respective Set … properties forms as with the example for Date Label properties below:
+
Since The Corner appears normally on the top of the chart with the Time Axis Levels and can appear at the bottom of the chart, either with or without the bottom time axis, The Corner is impacted by the control settings for Multi-Page mode.

<center></center>
+
For more information on Multi-Page output, please see the article at:  Creating Multi-Page Charts (Portal) <!--8.6.1-70-->
<!--<center>X70-22_2_2-70-(10)-11162020.png</center>-->
+

The form above shows typical date control groups for a typical Set … properties form.  Choosing to show the dates, the positioning of dates, the selection of the date format, and date font properties are standard throughout OnePager.  Each of the four (4) Set … properties forms for Task Bars and three (3) for Milestone symbols has a Use fiscal year checkbox and an augmented list with fiscal year date formats when the Use fiscal year checkbox is checked ON.
+
Additionally, The Corner is impacted by freeze pane settings as well.

For more information on the contents and use of controls in the four Set … properties forms, please see this section in the articles at:  Task Bars Tab for OnePager Express - Task Bar Decorations Control Group <!--21.4.1-70--> and Milestones Tab for OnePager Express - Milestone Symbol Decorations Control Group <!--21.6.1-70-->

About Fiscal Years and Weeks
+
An example of top and bottom Corners showing in a chart for the Time Axis Levels is illustrated below:

Although fiscal year date formats in Time Axis Levels are separate for control purposes from the controls over fiscal year date formats for task bars and milestone symbols, it is often advisable to coordinate date formats in the graph with date formats in the Time Axes.  Accordingly, if you plan to include date formats in any task bars/milestone symbol's decoration in your chart, you need to edit the controls in each specific task bars/milestone symbol's decoration you are going to use.

Using Fiscal Years
+
Labeling Time Axis Levels for OnePager Pro <!--22.1.5-70-->

+
The Use fiscal year checkbox, however, requires some further explanation.  When this checkbox is checked ON, OnePager expresses years, quarters, month number of the year, week number of the year, and day number of the year relative to the start of the fiscal year.  As an example, suppose the source plan portion below has  task bars spanning portions of two standard calendar years.  The Microsoft Excel source plan looks like this:
+

+
<center></center>
+
<!--<center>X70-22_2_2-70-(11)-11162020.png</center>-->
+

+
Creating the chart produces this graph where the Time Axis is specified globally as a standard calendar year, Start dates are shown to the left of the task bars and their Finish dates are shown to the right of the task bars:
+

+
<center></center>
+
<!--<center>X70-22_2_2-70-(12)-11162020.png</center>-->
+

+
The years shown for the last task bars in the illustration above have Start dates in 2018 and the last task bars Finish dates are in 2019.  You now can use the Time Axis controls accessed through the Chart Properties form’s Time Axis tab to access the Calendar sub-tab.  In the Calendar sub-tab, validate, for example, that the First month of the fiscal year dropdown is set to the month of October and the Use starting year for FY numbering checkbox is unchecked or OFF.
+

+
<center></center>
+
<!--<center>X70-22_2_2-70-(4)-11162020.png</center>-->
+

+
With this step completed, access the Top Level, Middle Level, and Bottom Level sub-tabs in the desired order and check each sub-tabs Use fiscal year checkbox to ON and select an appropriate Fiscal Year Label format as illustrated below for the Top Time Axis Level sub-tab:
+

+
<center></center>
+
<!--<center>X70-22_2_2-70-(5)-11162020.png</center>-->
+

+
After resetting the Top Level, Middle Level, and Bottom Level sub-tab controls as described above and clicking the Apply button on the Chart Properties form, the chart’s Time Axis looks like this:
+

+
<center></center>
+
<!--<center>X70-22_2_2-70-(14)-11162020.png</center>-->
+

+
Since, for consistency, you want to have the task bar’s Start/Finish dates reflect the correct fiscal year designation to match the configuration of the Time Axis, there is a need to make a few more adjustments.
+

+
First, go to the Task Bars tab of the Chart Properties form and click the Date Label Properties button to access the Set date label properties form.  In the Set date label properties form, click the Show start date and Show finish date checkboxes to ON. Then select the desired Start position and Finish position from the dropdown lists provided. Next, check the Use fiscal year checkbox ON.  And, lastly, select the fiscal year Date format from the dropdown list as shown below:
+

+
<center></center>
+
<!--<center>X70-22_2_2-70-(10)-11162020.png</center>-->
+

+
With the above settings made for the task bars in the chart, the Date Labels previously added to the task bar’s Labels now look like this:
+

+
<center></center>
+
<!--<center>X70-22_2_2-70-(15)-11162020.png</center>-->
+

+
Using Fiscal Weeks
+

+
OnePager is able to display the week number of each fiscal year, going sequentially from 1 to 52 (or 53 in some cases).
+

+
The Fiscal Weeks feature depends on your answer to three (3) questions in setting up the Time Axis:
+

+
:1)  On what day of the week does each week start (Sunday, Monday, etc.)?
+

+
:2)  Which month is the first month of the fiscal year?
+

+
:3)  Is the first week of the fiscal year the first full week, or is it the week that contains the first day of the fiscal year?
+

+
The following illustrations define weeks as beginning on Sundays and define the fiscal year as beginning in October.
+

+
These are the two cases of setting the answer to the third question above to make sure that the feature reflects your desires.  The examples show how to answer the three questions via the Chart Properties form Time Axis tab’s three Level sub-tabs and the Calendar sub-tab.  The illustration created below displays all three levels on the Time Axis.  The Top Level shows Month and Fiscal Year.  The Middle Level shows Week Number in Fiscal Year terms.. The Bottom Level shows Day of the Week.
+

+
To achieve the desired result it is necessary to configure each of the three Time Axis Level controls in the Top Level, Middle Level, and Bottom Level as shown below.  The Top Level sub-tab is configured to show Months with a Label format that includes the month-year combination.  The year is displayed as the end of the fiscal year.
+

+
<center></center>
+
<!--<center>X70-22_2_2-70-(16)-11162020.png</center>-->
+

+
The Middle Level sub-tab is configured to show the Fiscal Week Numbers with the Fiscal Week count starting at the beginning of the Fiscal Year.
+

+
<center></center>
+
<!--<center>X70-22_2_2-70-(17)-11162020.png</center>-->
+

+
The Bottom Level sub-tab is configured to display Days of the week using the day abbreviation for the display.
+

+
<center></center>
+
<!--<center>X70-22_2_2-70-(18)-11162020.png</center>-->
+

+
We can anticipate that configuring the Bottom Time Axis Level in days could create so many Tic Units so as to crowd out the text.  OnePager detects this condition and provides a warning message as shown below:
+

+
<center></center>
+
<!--<center>X70-22_2_2-70-(19)-11162020.png</center>-->
+

+
Under such circumstances the recommended is to adjust the Timespan boundaries to present a more pleasing display as is done in the illustration below that incorporates the Time Axis Level settings presented above:
+

+
<center></center>

<!--<center>X70-22_2_2-70-(20)-11162020.png</center>-->
+

+
Defining the First Week in a Fiscal Year
+

+
OnePager has three (3) options for defining the first week of the fiscal year as described below.  Where the first week of the fiscal year contains:
+

+
:1) The first day of the fiscal year.
+

+
:2)  The first full week of the fiscal year.
+

+
:3)  The fourth (4th) day of the year in accordance with International Standards Organization (ISO) 8601.
+

+
The selection control for establishing which option you wish to use is located in the Chart Properties form’s Time Axis tab in its Calendar sub-tab’s Calendar Settings control group as shown below:
+

+
<center></center>
+
<!--<center>X70-22_2_2-70-(21)-11162020.png</center>-->
+

+
The sub-sections below describe each of these options.

About the Corner for OnePager Pro

The upper left and lower left corners of the chart (called The Corner) have three alternative uses:

1) To show Time Axis Unit’s Labels.
2) To provide the Heading Names for Swimlane Level Labels and Text Columns.
3) To provide a blank area into which you can insert your own text statements.

To customize the Corner, access the Chart Properties form's Main tab. The radio buttons for designating the use of The Corner are shown below:

Swimlane Level Label Headings and Text Column Label Headings

Selecting the Swimlane/text column headings radio button causes the chart to show swimlane level label headings and text column label headings. If row and swimlane level labels are not displayed, that is, turned OFF in the Chart Properties form's Rows/Swimlanes tab, The Corner is not available for either Time Axis Unit Labels or Row/Swimlane Headings. If either the text columns labels or the swimlane level labels are displayed, either is turned ON in the Chart Properties form's Rows/Swimlanes tab, The Corner is available and can be used for any of the three uses.

7) The example below shows The Corner being used for row text column headings and swimlane level label headings:

Time-unit Labels

Selecting the Time-unit labels radio button causes the Time Axis Unit Labels to show in The Corner. In this mode, Time Axis Unit Labels cannot be hidden.

However, Time Axis Levels, including the Time Axis Unit Labels can be hidden by using the controls provided in the Chart Properties form's Time Axis tab's Top, Middle, or Bottom level sub-tabs to hide the entire Time Axis Level.

For more information on hiding Time Axis Levels, please see the article at: Labeling Time Axis Levels for OnePager Pro

The example below shows The Corner displaying Time Axis Unit Labels:

Neither

Selecting the Neither radio button option tells OnePager to transform The Corner into a blank space whose size depends on your selection for displaying rows and swimlane levels. The example below shows The Corner configured to span both text column label headers and swimlane level label headers:

Editing Corner Properties

To edit The Corner, first right-click on any element of The Corner being displayed.

The Edit Corner Properties Form

The Corner can be selected with a right-click in any part of The Corner to access the Edit corner properties form shown below:

P70-22 2 3-70-(5-1)-10302020.png

The Edit corner properties form has the following uses:

1) Modify The Corner element's text content.
2) Change text font properties with the standard Font Properties form.
3) Change the alignment of the text.
4) Change the background color of The Corner.
5) Change the Rotation of text in The Corner.

Editing Time Axis Level Unit Labels in the Corner

When The Corner is showing Time Axis Level Unit Labels, right-clicking on any Time Axis Unit Label accesses the Edit corner properties form shown above. This form allows you make changes to the selected Time Axis Unit Label's properties as shown here:

P70-22 2 3-70-(5A)-10302020.png

Editing Text Column/Swimlane Level Label Headings in the Corner

When The Corner is displaying Text Columns Label Headings and/or Swimlane Level Label Headings, right-clicking on any Text Columns Label Heading and/or Swimlane Level Label Heading again accesses the Edit corner properties form as shown below:

P70-22 2 3-70-(5B)-10302020.png

When the Time Axis or Text Columns and/or Swimlane Label Headings are being displayed at both the top and bottom of the chart and you want to make a change to any of these elements and, further, you want the change to be shown both at the top and bottom of the chart, the change must be individually applied to the Top and Bottom Time Axes separately.

Notes

Since The Corner appears normally on the top of the chart with the Time Axis Levels and can appear at the bottom of the chart, either with or without the bottom time axis, The Corner is impacted by the control settings for Multi-Page mode.

For more information on Multi-Page output, please see the article at: Creating Multi-Page Charts (Portal)

Additionally, The Corner is impacted by freeze pane settings as well.

For more information on freeze pane settings, please see the section in this article: View Modes - Freeze Panes Feature

An example of top and bottom Corners showing in a chart for the Time Axis Levels is illustrated below:
