The purpose of this article is to summarize the discussion on telling OnePager what actions to take when a Conditional Formatting Rule does apply. Each of the three areas where Conditional Formatting Rules features are provided in OnePager are covered.

Conditional Formatting Rules for Task Bar/Milestone Symbol Decorations

For this purpose, there are sixteen (16) fields that you can set to conditionally format the task bars/milestone symbols. Priority The priority in the rule is established by OnePager and stepped by one each time a rule is added. See the next section for more details. Positive integer numbers are used.

Priority

The last column on the far right in the Conditional Formatting Rules grid is the Priority column. The Priority column controls the sequence in which the rules are applied. OnePager automatically assigns increasing numbers to the Priority column as rules are defined. If several rules are in competition to set a particular formatting property, the rule with the lowest Priority number has priority over all the others. You can change the values in the Priority column at any time after the rule is completely defined, and any positive numeric value is acceptable.

Legend Text

The next to last column to the right is the Legend Text column. Whenever the result of a Conditional Import set of rules results in a Legend entry being created, you can provide the text for that Legend entry by providing appropriate text in the Legend Text column for the applicable rule.

Label Position

The third column from the right side of the grid is the Label Position column. Whenever the result of a Conditional Formatting set of rules results in a Text Label entry being created, you can provide the label position for that Label entry by selecting from one of the thirteen (13) standard label positions provided in the dropdown.

No Action Taken

When defining rules, any action field (e.g., color, task bar shape, milestone shape, borders, etc.) that is left blank is interpreted by OnePager as a no action. This amounts to retaining the default setting for that property. If you want to edit an action to become a no action, just check the use default checkbox On for the grid cell in question. Use default checkboxes are provided for Taskbars, Milestone shapes, Borders, and Label fonts.

Number of Rules

You can apply the approach described above to define as many rules as required. When you are finished, click the OK button in the Conditional Formatting Rules form which returns you to your starting place in the Task Bar tab or the Milestones tab. Click the Apply button and or OK buttons in the Chart Properties form to have OnePager apply the rules to the chart. For the Template Properties form, click the Save and Use button to have OnePager apply these rules to any chart that is created from the Template.
