Creating a NEW Chart Using Oracle Primavera P6 Data for Version 7.1 (P371-7_2_3-71-11152021.docx)
OnePager Pro, Express, and Bundle have a new feature that allows you to highlight a task bar or milestone symbol that is 100% Complete with a Checkmark Decoration enclosed in a circle.  When the feature is turned ON, OnePager automatically adds the Checkmark Decoration to any task bar or milestone symbol that achieves 100% Complete status in the chart/snapshot based upon imported source plan data.
+
Introduction
The purpose of this article is to introduce this feature and provide examples of its use.
+
This article addresses the creation of new charts from Oracle Primavera P6 source plans.  Oracle Primavera P6 source plans are processed by the OnePager Bundle Standalone edition only.  The workflow presented in this article is based upon OnePager Bundle Standalone.

The examples used here are from OnePager Pro using Microsoft Project as the source plan.  The feature as described works exactly the same for source plans from Microsoft Excel, Oracle Primavera P6, and Smartsheet handled by OnePager Express and OnePager Bundle.

Launch Oracle Primavera P6 and access the required source plan. Set the Flags/Numbers field into the Oracle Primavera P6 source plan. This is the flag that OnePager uses to determine which tasks and milestones to import.  Determine which of the tasks and milestones are to be included and set the Flags/Numbers field cell to Yes for these while leaving the remainder of the task's and milestone's Flag field set to No, 0, or blank. At this point the Oracle Primavera P6 source plan can be saved and closed.  The OnePager Bundle Standalone edition of OnePager Bundle does not require that the Oracle Primavera source plan be launched first.

Launching OnePager Bundle Standalone
In OnePager you can show the numeric value of the percent complete in the task bar label by using appropriate controls in the Template Properties form or the Chart Properties form as described for the Chart Properties form in the article at: Percent complete for OnePager 10.3.1-71.
+
Launch OnePager Bundle Standalone from the Desktop Icon.  The OnePager splash page appears briefly followed by the OnePager Chart Editor form displaying the OnePager Bundle Start form as shown below:

An example using the above illustration with percent complete values showing in the task bar label looks like this:

When tasks are complete and the chart is updated, the task bars in the Planning Phase, for example, show the yellow bar at the bottom of the task bar filling the space from task bar start date to the task bar finish date as shown in the example below:
+
When you click the Select button shown above, OnePager then provides a dropdown menu for you to either choose to use the BROWSE Primavera P6 Files …, or click the RECENT option to access recently created Oracle Primavera P6 source plan files as shown above.  OnePager can process Oracle Primavera P6 XML and XER file types. Click the BROWSE Primavera P6 Files … option as shown above access a Windows Open form where you can select an Oracle Primavera P6 source plan to load as shown here:

<center></center>

Examination of the illustration above shows that completed task bars have the yellow bar extending the width of the task bar.  If the schedule discussion requires emphasizing the completion of these task bars, the percent complete value can again be added to the task bar label as shown here:
+
When you click the Open button on the Windows Open form above, OnePager loads the selected Oracle Primavera P6 source plan and provides you with the expanded OPC form so that you can confirm or edit the settings before OnePager creates the new chart.

When the Checkmark Decoration for completed task bars is turned ON and the percent complete value is turned OFF in the task bar label, task bars that are 100% Complete are shown in the chart like this:
+
As shown above, OnePager displays the loaded Oracle Primavera P6 source plan in the Selected File(s) group of the OPC form.  You can use the Add/Remove feature (described elsewhere) to edit the choice of Oracle Primavera P6 source plan, add additional files to the source packet, and remove files.  Clicking the Add/Modify button accesses the Data source selection form as shown below:

The Checkmark Decoration is a concise, easily discussed, and visible marker for showing a task bar as 100% Complete.
+
Since the OnePager Bundle can process various source plans from Microsoft Project, Microsoft Excel, Oracle Primavera P6, and Smartsheet, it is necessary to assure that the Starting Template matches the source plan type.  OnePager Bundle can normally do this for you but as a reminder please check the Starting Template’s name before proceeding with filling out the rest of the OPC form.

The remainder of this article shows you how to enable and disable the Checkmark Decoration feature in the chart.
+
It is recommended that the chart name selected refer to both the project and, perhaps, be familiar to the audience that is likely to view the completed OnePager chart. Additionally, notice that the Select Tasks with ‘YES’ in field: is showing Flag20. We’ve added Flag20 as a User Defined Field (UDF) in Oracle Primavera P6 as a text field for convenience.    Most users select UDF text field to tell OnePager which tasks and milestones to import but any text field or any number field can be used.  It is important that the Flag field represented in this window correspond to the Flag field containing the Yes and No data placed in the Oracle Primavera P6 source plan.

Turning the Checkmark Decoration Feature ON and OFF
+
The Snapshot date represents the time now or as-of date for the chart you are about to create.  If the date created by OnePager does not reflect the status date required, change the date by using the calendar dropdown window. As the source plan changes later on, you can create additional snapshots to show changes consistently.

Controls for turning the Checkmark Decoration feature ON and OFF are contained in the Template Properties and Chart Properties form’s Task Bars and Milestones tabs in their Task Bar Decorations or Milestone Symbol Decorations sub-sections as shown below using the Chart Properties form:
+
Finally, note that the Show file mappings checkbox is checked ON as shown above.  Checking this checkbox ON and pressing the Next> button takes you to the second page of the OPC form shown below:

<center></center>
+
<center></center>

+
<center>P71-7_2_3-71-(7)-11152021.png</center>

In the above illustration, the % Complete checkbox is checked ON which enables the %Complete Properties… button that accesses the Set percent-complete properties form as shown below:
+
This form allows you to edit which Oracle Primavera P6 source plan fields are used for various purposes such as the Start field and the Color by field.  The Edit current template button also gives you a second opportunity to edit many more initial properties of the chart by accessing the current Template Properties form. Once these choices are confirmed or edited, click the Create new chart button and OnePager imports the flagged data and creates the chart.

<center></center>
+
Once the chart is created, you can edit by right-clicking task bars and milestone symbols and using the context menus commands.  You can also left-click on task bars and milestone symbols and use the editing Icons on the OnePager ribbon tool bar tabs. You can also left-click on a task bar or milestone symbol and use the mouse to drag the selected task bar or milestone symbol up or down from row to row in the chart. When the desired editing is complete, click the Copy to Clipboard button on the OnePager Home ribbon tool bar tab. Then paste the chart into a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation, email message, or Microsoft Word document.  If the chart contains more than one page, you can choose to copy the entire document, the last page (current page), or a selected numerical page to the clipboard. OnePager can save all charts and snapshots after editing.
<center>P71-0_4_5-71-(2)-11112021.png</center>
+

Checking the Add checkmark if complete checkbox ON, as shown in the illustration below, tells OnePager to automatically place Checkmark Decorations on all 100% Complete task bars and/or milestone symbols.

Creating a NEW Chart Using Oracle Primavera P6 Data for Version 7.1 (P371-7_2_3-71-11152021.docx)

Introduction

This article addresses the creation of new charts from Oracle Primavera P6 source plans. Oracle Primavera P6 source plans are processed by the OnePager Bundle Standalone edition only. The workflow presented in this article is based upon OnePager Bundle Standalone.

Overview Flow Chart for OnePager Bundle Standalone & Oracle Primavera P6

P71-7_2_3-71-(1)-11152021.png

Preparing the Oracle Primavera P6 Source Plan

Launch OnePager Bundle Standalone from the Desktop Icon. The OnePager splash page appears briefly followed by the OnePager Chart Editor form displaying the OnePager Bundle Start form as shown below:

P71-7 2 3-71-(2)-11152021.png
P71-7_2_3-71-(2)-11152021.png

When you click the NEW button, OnePager displays an abbreviated OnePager choices (OPC) form.

P71-7 2 3-71-(3)-11152021.png
P71-7_2_3-71-(3)-11152021.png

When you click the Select button shown above, OnePager then provides a dropdown menu for you to either choose to use the BROWSE Primavera P6 Files …, or click the RECENT option to access recently created Oracle Primavera P6 source plan files as shown above. OnePager can process Oracle Primavera P6 XML and XER file types. Click the BROWSE Primavera P6 Files … option as shown above access a Windows Open form where you can select an Oracle Primavera P6 source plan to load as shown here:

P71-7 2 3-71-(4)-11152021.png
P71-7_2_3-71-(4)-11152021.png

When you click the Open button on the Windows Open form above, OnePager loads the selected Oracle Primavera P6 source plan and provides you with the expanded OPC form so that you can confirm or edit the settings before OnePager creates the new chart.

P71-7 2 3-71-(5)-11152021.png
P71-7_2_3-71-(5)-11152021.png

As shown above, OnePager displays the loaded Oracle Primavera P6 source plan in the Selected File(s) group of the OPC form. You can use the Add/Remove feature (described elsewhere) to edit the choice of Oracle Primavera P6 source plan, add additional files to the source packet, and remove files. Clicking the Add/Modify button accesses the Data source selection form as shown below:

P71-7 2 3-71-(6)-11152021.png
P71-7_2_3-71-(6)-11152021.png

Since the OnePager Bundle can process various source plans from Microsoft Project, Microsoft Excel, Oracle Primavera P6, and Smartsheet, it is necessary to assure that the Starting Template matches the source plan type. OnePager Bundle can normally do this for you but as a reminder please check the Starting Template’s name before proceeding with filling out the rest of the OPC form.

The Snapshot date represents the time now or as-of date for the chart you are about to create. If the date created by OnePager does not reflect the status date required, change the date by using the calendar dropdown window. As the source plan changes later on, you can create additional snapshots to show changes consistently.

Finally, note that the Show file mappings checkbox is checked ON as shown above. Checking this checkbox ON and pressing the Next> button takes you to the second page of the OPC form shown below:

P71-7 2 3-71-(7)-11152021.png
P71-7_2_3-71-(7)-11152021.png

This form allows you to edit which Oracle Primavera P6 source plan fields are used for various purposes such as the Start field and the Color by field. The Edit current template button also gives you a second opportunity to edit many more initial properties of the chart by accessing the current Template Properties form. Once these choices are confirmed or edited, click the Create new chart button and OnePager imports the flagged data and creates the chart.
