The Document Fitting control group on the Page Layout ribbon tool bar tab provides controls for you to select the number of horizontal (width) pages, the number of vertical (height) pages, and the control for scaling the document or fitting the document onto the output media. You can increase or decrease the number of pages comprising the output media by using the Width and Height dropdown lists in the Document Fitting control group on the Page Layout tab.  The Width and Height dropdown lists allow the selection of the number of pages into which you want to divide the chart.  The Width and Height dropdown lists are shown below:

Increasing the Scale factor enlarges the chart on the output media while decreasing the Scale factor decreases the size of the chart on the output media. Using these controls you can tailor the the presentation of the chart on the output media to include printed pages and copied pages suitable for pasting into a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation.

Width and Height Settings
Page Size Selection
+
The Width and Height settings allow you to control the number of pages the chart is divided into when transferred to an appropriate output media. Starting with a height and width setting of one (1), indicates that only one output page is available for transmission to an output media.

The Page Size button is active in all View modes.  Clicking the Page Size button accesses the Page Size dropdown menu where you can change the selection of the output page product size.  The Page Size dropdown menu looks like this:
+
Example
<center></center>
+
OnePager sets an appropriate scale factor for this 1 X 1 configuration based upon your selection from the Page Size dropdown list in the Page Setup control group on the Page Layout ribbon tool bar tab.  For example, if you start off with a Letter page size, the scale factor is 71% all other things being equal as shown here:
<!--<center>P70-8_6_1_2_1-70-(2)-09032019.png</center>-->
+

In the list of page sizes, the arrow at the bottom of the list (as shown above) and an arrow at the top of the list are not clickable. Rather you can scroll up and down the list by using your keyboard up and down arrow buttons.

Changing Page Size
The list of page size selections is determined from your printer selection made in the Page Layout tab of the Chart Properties form or the Template Properties form.  The setting in the Chart Properties form is shown below:

If you change the page size to Legal, OnePager re-scales the chart to fit as one page on the legal size document by changing the scale factor in this case to 90% as shown below:

Whenever you change printers and the new printer has a different list of page sizes, OnePager adopts that list of page sizes and display them in the Printer choice: dropdown menu. Making a change to the page size selection can have an impact on how the pages appear in the output media.  The appearance can be easily checked by clicking the Print Preview button.  The position of page breaks can also change if a change is made to the Page Size selection.  Accordingly, Page Size selection is applied to the document’s size and OnePager fits the chart to fit best within that document size. Page Size selections made with the Page Size dropdown menu are independent of snapshot.  That is, a selection made in any snapshot is applied to all snapshots.
+
Looking at the resulting scale factor, in the above illustration, we see that it is changed to 90%:

The options available under the Page Break button allow you to:

Scale factor as discussed above is in the context of how OnePager automatically re-scales the chart as a reflection of changes to Page size and number of horizontal and vertical pages selected. You have the option to set the Scale factor manually to better control the presentation of your output media. This is done by clicking on the Scale window in the Document Fitting control group shown above and typing in the numeric value for the Scale factor. When finished the checkbox to the immediate right of the Scale window is enabled. When you click the checkbox, OnePager applies the re-scaled value to the presentation of the chart in Print Preview View mode. If you change the Height and Width setting to Automatic, the Scale window is enabled and you can either access the dropdown menu provided or enter your own Scale factor as just discussed.  The dropdown Scale factor menu is shown below:

:* Insert a vertical page break,

:* Insert a horizontal page break,

:* Remove all inserted page breaks, and
+
:* Remove all page breaks.
+

Each of these options are discussed in the three (3) sub-sections that immediately follow.
+
Example
Insert Vertical Page Breaks
+
In the example above, the scale factor was set to 87% for a Legal size document.

When the Insert vertical page break option is selected, OnePager changes the cursor to a plus, places a dark horizontal line in the chart that is responsive to the movement of the mouse, and snaps the vertical page break to the nearest row boundary.  Upon left-clicking, the vertical page break is inserted as shown below:
+
Reducing the Scale Factor
<center></center>
+
Retaining the Legal size document and reducing the Scale factor to 50% gives these Before and After results in Print Preview View mode:
<!--<center>P70-8_6_1_2_1-70-(5)-09032019.png</center>-->
+

After left-clicking, OnePager completes the vertical page break insertion and the chart looks like this:
+

+
<!--<center><P70-8_6_1_2_2-70-(7-1)-12072020.png></center>-->

When you add a vertical page break manually, the integer in the Height window is increased by one (1).  Likewise, when add a horizontal page break manually, the integer in the Width window is increased by one (1).  Removing manual page breaks does not decrease these numbers back to their previous values in all cases.  In these situations, you can manually reset these numbers back to their desired values.  Note that setting these numbers to lower values can cause some or all of the manual or automatic page breaks to be deleted, with automatic page breaks being deleted first. If the Height and Width window settings in the Document Fitting group of the Page Layout tab are either or both set to Automatic, OnePager makes changes to the number of pages in order to retain the aspect ratio of the document.  An example is provided below, where the Height and Width settings are Automatic, the original number of pages was determined to be four (4) and you inserted a vertical page break as in the previous example:

Increasing the Scale Factor
<center></center>

Re-scaling up from 50% to 150% produces the following result:

Insert Horizontal Page Breaks
<center>After – Scale Factor 150%</center>-->

The procedure and conventions applicable to the insertion of a vertical page break applies as well to the insertion of the horizontal page break.  When inserting a horizontal page break, the cursor is changed to a plus sign, and a vertical line is moved from left to right, snapping at smallest time unit on the time axis as shown below:

A Note On Changing From Numerical Page Width and Height To Automatic
<!--<center>P70-8_6_1_2_1-70-(9)-09032019.png</center>-->

After left-clicking, OnePager completes the horizontal page break insertion and the chart looks like this:
+
When you previously selected a numerical value for the number of horizontal and vertical pages and subsequently change the Width and Height values back to the Automatic, OnePager resets the number of pages based on the document's current Page size setting and Scale factor setting in effect at the time. In Print Preview View mode the results can be unexpected since OnePager is taking into account other graphic elements such as the configuration selected for repeated element such as Rows and Swimlanes, Time axes, Headers/Footer, and chart Title. Should the presentation turn out to be unsatisfactory, we recommend first adjusting the Scale factor to obtain the desired presentation look in Print Preview view mode before again manually changing the Width and Height settings.

Removing Page Breaks
+

+
There are two (2) options available for removing page breaks from the chart:
+

+
:* Removing all page breaks and
+
:* Removing manually inserted page breaks.
+

+
These options are shown below:

<!--<center>P70-8_6_1_2_1-70-(12)-09032019.png</center>-->
+

+
The Remove all inserted page breaks option removes all manually inserted page breaks both horizontal and vertical if present in the chart.  Removing all manual page breaks by this method can still leave some automatic page breaks depending on the document size and how the automatic page number selections are made for the Width and Height values. The Remove all page breaks option removes all manual page breaks previously inserted as well as all automatically inserted page breaks. The values for the Width and Height are reset back to one (1). The Chart Editor remains in Page Break view mode after either of these two options are exercised in the chart.

Moving a Vertical or Horizontal Page Break
+

+
You can change in the location of page breaks by using the mouse to drag and drop them. This is done by first moving the mouse over the page break where it changes shape to a double-pointed arrow as shown below:

<!--<center>P70-8_6_1_2_1-70-(13)-09032019.png</center>-->
+

+
With the double-pointed arrow positioned over the page break, hold down the mouse left-click button and move the selected horizontal page break to the left or right or move the selected vertical page break up or down as shown here for the horizontal page break selected in the illustration above:

Changing the Number of Pages for Width and Height
+

+
You can also change the number of pages desired in the vertical and horizontal directions by manually changing the numeric values in the Document Fitting control group's Width and/or Height value widows and illustrated below for the Width window:

About Document Fitting

The Document Fitting control group on the Page Layout ribbon tool bar tab provides controls for you to select the number of horizontal (width) pages, the number of vertical (height) pages, and the control for scaling the document or fitting the document onto the output media. You can increase or decrease the number of pages comprising the output media by using the Width and Height dropdown lists in the Document Fitting control group on the Page Layout tab. The Width and Height dropdown lists allow the selection of the number of pages into which you want to divide the chart. The Width and Height dropdown lists are shown below:

P70-8 6 1 2 2-70-(1)-09042019.png

When you select Automatic for both the width and height settings, the Scale window is enabled giving you choices for scale factors as shown below:

P70-8 6 1 2 2-70-(2)-09042019.png

Increasing the Scale factor' enlarges the chart on the output media while decreasing the Scale factor decreases the size of the chart on the output media. Using these controls you can tailor the the presentation of the chart on the output media to include printed pages and copied pages suitable for pasting into a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation.

Width and Height Settings

The Width and Height settings allow you to control the number of pages the chart is divided into when transferred to an appropriate output media. Starting with a height and width setting of one (1), indicates that only one output page is available for transmission to an output media.

Example

OnePager sets an appropriate scale factor for this 1 X 1 configuration based upon your selection from the Page Size dropdown list in the Page Setup control group on the Page Layout ribbon tool bar tab. For example, if you start off with a Letter page size, the scale factor is 71% all other things being equal as shown here:

P70-8 6 1 2 2-70-(3-1)-12072020.png

Changing Page Size

If you change the page size to Legal, OnePager re-scales the chart to fit as one page on the legal size document by changing the scale factor in this case to 90% as shown below:

P70-8 6 1 2 2-70-(4-2)-12072020.png

Looking at the resulting scale factor, in the above illustration, we see that it is changed to 90%:

P70-8 6 1 2 2-70-(5-1)-12072020.png

Changing the Width and Height

Changing the Width and Height settings to 2 X 2, as another example, creates four (4) output media pages that are sized and scaled to comply with the selection of output media page size, as shown below in Print Preview mode:

P70-8 6 1 2 2-70-(6-1)-12072020.png

Scale Factor

P70-8 6 1 2 2-70-(6A-1)-12072020.png

Example

In the example above, the scale factor was set to 87% for a Legal size document.

Reducing the Scale Factor

Retaining the Legal size document and reducing the Scale factor to 50% gives these Before and After results in Print Preview View mode:

Before – Scale Factor at 87%
P70-8 6 1 2 2-70-(7-1)-12072020.png
After – Scale Factor 50%
P70-8 6 1 2 2-70-(8-1)-12072020.png

Increasing the Scale Factor

Re-scaling up from 50% to 150% produces the following result:

After – Scale Factor 150%
-->
P70-8 6 1 2 2-70-(9-1)-12072020.png

A Note On Changing From Numerical Page Width and Height To Automatic
