To control which '''activities''' and/or '''WBS Elements''' are '''imported''' by '''OnePager''' as task bars, you need to specify the Oracle Primavera P6 field as shown above where the Oracle Primavera P6 '''User Defined field''' named '''Flag20''' was added as a '''text''' field and the activities that we wish to '''import''' have this field's contents set to the text '''Yes''' for each activity we wish to import.  When making your first chart, we strongly recommend that you select 50 or fewer tasks.

'''OnePager''' can '''import''' either Oracle Primavera P6 '''XML formatted''' or '''XER formatted''' files.  Therefore, these files must first be '''exported''' from your Oracle Primavera P6 application and stored under an appropriate file name of your choosing.  Oracle Primavera P6 '''XML formatted''' and '''XER formatted''' files can be directly '''imported''' into '''OnePager''' as discussed in the next section.  Since Oracle Primavera P6 '''XML formatted''' files can also be '''exported''' as '''ZIP''' file, '''OnePager''' can '''UNZIP''' these files and '''import''' these '''UNZIPPED XML formatted''' files to '''OnePager'''.

Shown in the illustration above is the '''file name''' for the Oracle Primavera P6 '''source plan''' and the distributed Oracle Primavera P6 '''Template Properties''' form that '''OnePager''' selects as a starting point for you.  Also shown above is the '''chart name''' selected as an example for the '''NEW OnePager Bundle''' chart.  '''OnePager''' also recognizes the Oracle Primavera P6 '''Flag20''' field as the '''import selection field''' because its contents are '''Yes''' and blanks.  At this point you can change the '''Template Properties''' form used to build the chart by clicking the '''Change''' button in the '''Starting Template''' sub-section of the '''OnePager Choices''' form.  You can change the '''chart name''' at any time before clicking the '''Create new chart''' button.

That’s it! You’ve created a professional 1-page schedule summary from a complex Oracle Primavera P6 schedule and copied it into a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation. You can also print the chart by selecting the '''Print''' button on the '''File''' tab. '''OnePager Bundle''' has other features that let you move task bars vertically to different '''rows and swimlanes''', change the number and levels of swimlanes, add swimlane titles, show graphic dependencies among tasks, change task bar colors, hide task bars, edit text items, add floating comment boxes, add comment boxes to task bars, and standardize on chart styles across organizations.

The example above is just one of many uses of the '''Data''' ribbon tool bar tab’s '''Replace Snapshot''' button when you need to update a chart.  You can do this as many times as necessary until the chart is the way you need it.  In addition to adding and removing activities by changing the Oracle Primavera P6 '''Flag20''' field, you can change '''source plan''' activity '''Start''', '''Finish''', or '''Percent Complete''' and display these data changes in the chart.  Using the procedure above you can do this very efficiently. You can now '''save''' the chart by giving it a '''save''' name.  When you '''save''' the chart in, '''OnePager saves''' the '''.TAM''' and '''saves''' the Oracle Primavera P6 '''source plan name''' and '''path''' information.  This is useful when you want to further '''update''' the chart or when you want to add a snapshot later on.  In the examples below we assume that the chart is '''saved''' as '''BlueGrass Project Report - P6'''.

Introduction

To use OnePager Bundle Standalone with Oracle Primavera P6 you are required to have Oracle Primavera P6 installed on your computer with OnePager Bundle, possess a valid Oracle Primavera P6 license and an account, and have Oracle Primavera P6 source plans that can be imported to OnePager Bundle. With these requirements satisfied, OnePager Bundle can access your Oracle Primavera P6 XML formatted, ZIP formatted, or XER formatted files and create a NEW chart, UPDATE an existing chart, or OPEN an already created chart residing on your computer.

This article is a complete guide for using OnePager Bundle Standalone for importing Oracle Primavera P6 XML, ZIP, or XER files through the creation of a OnePager Chart, editing the chart, and incorporating the chart into a schedule conversation such as pasting the chart into a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation.

As a convention, whenever we refer to the OnePager Bundle in the context of Oracle Primavera P6, we'll just say OnePager when its absolutely clear that we are discussing OnePager with Oracle Primavera P6. Since only the Standalone edition of OnePager can import Oracle Primavera P6 XML formatted, XER formatted files, and ZIP formatted files containing XML formatted data, we'll just leave the suffix "Standalone" off.

Launching OnePager Using Oracle Primavera P6 Source Plans for the First Time

Preparing the Oracle Primavera P6 Source Plan

Selecting Oracle Primavera P6 Activities and/or WBS Elements to Import to OnePager

OnePager supports both Oracle Primavera P6 XML and XER export file structures. OnePager also supports Oracle Primavera P6 exported ZIP formatted files containing XML formatted source plans. As with OnePager Pro and OnePager Express, OnePager used with Oracle Primavera P6 source plans requires that you add a Flag field to your source plan that can be coded with Yes text values to indicate to OnePager that the source plan's row entry is to be imported and displayed in the Chart Editor. An example Oracle Primavera P6 source plan based on the BlueGrass Project Plan used elsewhere in this Wiki is shown below with the column Flag20 indicating the import Flag field:
