Overview

Microsoft Excel is very flexible when it comes to its column definitions. OnePager requires only that you prepare your Microsoft Excel source plan with at least four (4) required fields before importing it to OnePager. These required fields serve the function for Task Name, a task Start Date, a task Finish Date, and Unique ID. OnePager scans the fields that are imported from Microsoft Excel and attempts to find fields that are reasonably close to the three fields mentioned earlier. OnePager then posts then on page 2 of the OnePager choices form where you have an opportunity to confirm or change the mapping. For a typical Microsoft Excel source plan the second page (page 2) of the OnePager choices form looks like this:

The fields that are not required are filled in by OnePager Express when it scans the Microsoft Excel source plan and makes educated guesses on how to categorize the column headings it finds in the Microsoft Excel source plan.

Additionally, if you are creating a chart where you want to display constraints between tasks, we advise that you add and populate a Smartsheet column called Predecessor. OnePager's imported column analysis process is very good at finding and properly categorizing your user defined fields.
