Overview

1) Often, there is more than one audience that is interested in seeing a schedule presented for a project and each audience wants to see different elements of the schedule.

2) With OnePager, you can create different charts from the same Microsoft Excel source plan.

3) This is accomplished by inserting two or more Flag fields into Microsoft Excel source plan’s fields and instructing OnePager to produce additional charts using these alternative Flag fields.

4) For example, Show IT1 can be used to produce the OnePager chart for an executive team, while Show It2 can be used as the Flag for internal presentations.

5) Further, Show It3 can be reserved to produce and update charts for customer.

6) By inserting these three Flag fields into the Microsoft Excel source plan and appropriately populating the cells with "Yes” and “No", three different charts can be prepared, have snapshots added to them, and updated or replaced as needed.

Procedures

1) The steps to accomplish this process are similar to creating a NEW chart, but differ slightly:

2) Launch Microsoft Excel and bring up the desired Microsoft Excel source plan.

3) Use any additional Flag fields in the Microsoft Excel source plan.

4) These added Flag fields are use to determine which Microsoft Excel source plan rows to import.

5) Determine which of the task/milestone rows in the Microsoft Excel source plan are to be included and set the Flag field cell to Yes leaving the remainder of the task/milestone row’s Flag field set to No.

6) Click the OnePager' button on the Microsoft Excel tool bar. OnePager accesses the OnePager Express Start form. Click the NEW button:

7) OnePager displays a OnePager choices (OPC) form as shown below:

9) Each chart or .TAM file has its own unique file name and path name so to avoid confusion it is best to create unique file names when creating another chart from the same Microsoft Project source plan that uses an alternative Flag field.

10) Once satisfied with the chart name and selection of Flag field, click the Create new chart button (if you did not check the Show field mappings checkbox) or the Next> button (if you did check the Show field mappings checkbox) to create the chart.

11) OnePager imports the data from the Microsoft Excel source plan under the control of Show It2.
