About Restoring Default Formatting
Where’s My Stuff?! is a OnePager feature that helps you locate task bars/milestone symbols that cannot be easily seen in the graph for various reasons.  Additionally, the feature helps you understand why task bars/milestone symbols are not appearing and provides you a means to repair the chart so that task bars/milestone symbols become visible again. When you are trying to locate a task bar/milestone symbol and do not wish to cause all hidden task bars/milestone symbols, and rows,  to be made visible, go the OnePager Home ribbon tool bar tab and click on the Show/Hide dropdown as shown below:

When you first create your OnePager chart, all of the task bars and milestone symbols adhere to the formatting settings that were established in the current Template Properties form being used to create the chart. As changes are made to the chart, you often change the format properties of task bars/milestone symbols so that they no longer adhere to the default formatting and inn so doing create task bar and milestone symbol mavericks.

Why a Task Bar/Milestone Symbol is not Visible
+
Clicking the Use Format Defaults button at the bottom left of the form restores the selected task bar/milestone symbol to its default format properties.

The grid above shows a red X in the column representing the reason that the task bar/milestone symbol, designated in the grid row of the Task name column, is not visible. There are nine (9) reasons that a task bar/milestone symbol, row, or swimlane level can not immediately be visible in the chart:
+
Restoring Other Properties of Selected Task Bars/Milestone Symbols
:*  Hidden Tasks/Milestones.  The task bar/milestone symbol is hidden (e.g., manually hidden, incorporated into a Virtual Summary Task (VST), or absorbed into another task bar).
+
Each tab on the Change Task/Milestone Properties form above has it's own Use xxxx Defaults button located in the bottom left corner of the form's tab where xxxx represents the property tab name in the form. For example, in the Task Label tab of the Change Task/Milestone Properties form, the xxxx is Label.  In the Date tab, xxxx is Date-Label. Once you have access to the Change Task/Milestone Properties form for a selected task bar/milestone symbol, you can restore default format properties by using each of the form's tabs.
:* De-Flagged Tasks/Milestones.  The task bar/milestone symbol is not flagged (e.g., Flag20 for Microsoft Project) for import from Microsoft Project or Microsoft Excel for the specific snapshot being viewed, but it was flagged and imported in other snapshots.
+
:*  Date out of Range. The dates on the task bar/milestone symbol (Start and/or Finish) are out of range relative to the date range established for the chart.
+
:* Hidden Row.  The row containing the task bar/milestone symbol is hidden, either directly, or because the parent swimlane level is hidden.
+
:* Buried Item.  The task bar/milestone symbol is buried (i.e., z-ordering level on the screen) beneath one or more other task bars/milestone symbols.
+
:* Absorbed Item. The task bar/milestone symbol is not visible because it is absorbed into another task bar.
+
:* Virtual Summary Task. The task bars/milestone symbols are hidden because they are now part of a VST.
+
:* Item needs repair. The graphical properties of the task bar or milestone symbol are missing at the current snapshot.
+
:* Hidden timespan.  The task bar/milestone symbols are hidden because there are hidden Time Axis Level Cells  or curtains called timespans that are hidden.
+

If you need additional explanation on what the different reasons mean, you can click the Help Me button.  This accesses the form below which gives a detailed explanation for each reason:

About Restoring Default Formatting

When you first create your OnePager chart, all of the task bars and milestone symbols adhere to the formatting settings that were established in the current Template Properties form being used to create the chart. As changes are made to the chart, you often change the format properties of task bars/milestone symbols so that they no longer adhere to the default formatting and inn so doing create task bar and milestone symbol mavericks.

Restoring the Default Formatting for a Task Bar/Milestone Symbol

To restore a task bar/milestone symbol to its default formatting, right-click on the task bar/milestone symbol to select it and access its right-click context menu. In the context menu accessed, click the Format… command to access the Change Task/Milestone Properties form. Accessing the Change Task/Milestone Properties form in this manner takes you to the form's Format tab as shown below:

P70-9 5 1-(1)-05182020.png

Clicking the Use Format Defaults button at the bottom left of the form restores the selected task bar/milestone symbol to its default format properties.

Restoring Other Properties of Selected Task Bars/Milestone Symbols

Each tab on the Change Task/Milestone Properties form above has it's own Use xxxx Defaults button located in the bottom left corner of the form's tab where xxxx represents the property tab name in the form. For example, in the Task Label tab of the Change Task/Milestone Properties form, the xxxx is Label. In the Date tab, xxxx is Date-Label. Once you have access to the Change Task/Milestone Properties form for a selected task bar/milestone symbol, you can restore default format properties by using each of the form's tabs.

Restoring Other Properties of All Task Bars/Milestone Symbols

Additionally, if you desire to restore all default format properties to all task bars/milestone symbols you can use the following steps:

Go to the Home ribbon tool bar tab's Editing control group and click the Select all dropdown button. Then click the Tasks/Milestones command as shown here:

P70-9 5 1-(2)-05182020.png

This action selects all task bars and milestone symbols in the chart. Next, right-click on any selected task bar/milestone symbol to access the task bar right-click context menu shown here:

P70-9 5 1-(3)-05182020.png

Clicking the Format... command accesses the Change Task/Milestone Properties form shown above at the Format tab. Now, click the Use Format Defaults button which restores all the selected task bars/milestone symbols to their default format settings.

You can use any of the other tabs on the Change Task/Milestone Properties form to restore default format setting for those task bars/milestone symbol's format properties as well.

Restoring All Hidden Task Bar Name Labels

When multiple task bar name labels are hidden, they can all be unhidden by using the procedure steps from the previous section. Suppose we have a portion of a chart that has hidden task bar name labels as shown below:

P70-9 5 1-(4)-05182020.png

To efficiently restore these hidden task bar name labels first select all task bars/milestone symbols by using the Select all dropdown button on the Home ribbon tool bar tab's Edit control group as discussed above. Click on the Task/Milestones command in the dropdown to select all task bars/milestone symbols as shown below:

P70-9 5 1-(5)-05182020.png

With all task bars/milestone symbols selected, right-click on any one of the task bars/milestone symbols with a hidden task bar name label and click the Format... command as shown here:

P70-9 5 1-(6)-05182020.png

This action accesses the Change Task/Milestone Properties form at the Format tab so it is necessary to click on the Task Labels tab to access the Task Label property controls as shown below:

P70-9 5 1-(7)-05182020.png

As shown in the illustration above, you have the option to recheck the Show task/milestone label checkbox ON or click the Use Label Defaults button to restore all hidden task bar name labels in the chart. As a note, in the sequence of steps above, if you choose to click the Use Label Defaults button, your action restores all task bar name label properties to their default format settings. Rechecking the Show task/milestone label checkbox ON only restores the task bar name labels. When you click the OK button on the Change Task/Milestone Properties form, the chart displays all task bar name labels.

Restoring Task Link Format Properties

When Data-driven Task Links or manual Task Links are shown and previously mavericked their default format properties can be restored in either of two ways:

To restore the default format properties of an individual Task Link follow the steps given below:

1) Use the right-click on the desired Task Link to access the right-click context menus shown here:
P70-9 5 1-70-(8)-06242019.png
2) Then click the Properties ... command as shown above to access the Task Link Properties form shown below:
P70-9 5 1-70-(9)-06242019.png
3) Click the Use Format Defaults button as shown above to restore the default format properties of the selected Task Link(s).

To restore the default format properties of all Task Links, follow the steps shown below:

1) Go to the OnePager Home ribbon tool bar tab in the Editing control group and click the Select All dropdown to access its dropdown list as shown here:
P70-9 5 1-70-(10)-06242019.png
2) In the dropdown list shown above, click the Task Links command which selects all Task Links shown in the chart.
3) Next, right-click on any selected Task Link to access the right-click context menu and then click the Properties ... command as was done in the previous example. This action accesses the Task Link Properties form, shown above, where the Use Format Defaults button can be clicked to restore the default format properties of all Task Links in a single click. Restoring default format properties for all Task Links also restores defaults for any Task Links that might be hidden.

When the previously hidden Task Links are unhidden their properties are restored to the default format values.
