Installing OnePager Bundle with OnePager Pro and/or OnePager Express for Version 7.1 (P71-2_0_4-71-02282022.docx)
One of the strength of OnePager is its ability to create compact visual representations of multiple projects that are part of a single Smartsheet file as well as create OnePager charts from multiple single Smartsheet files. These can be several projects that belong to one program or they can be several projects and programs in an organization’s portfolio. Representing multiple projects originating in a single Smartsheet source plan can, therefore, be easily done with the creative selection of Row and Swimlane fields from the Smartsheet source plan.
+
Introduction
The OnePager Bundle Standalone application can import these multi-project Smartsheet files and produce multi-project charts.
+
Most OnePager users install either OnePager Pro and/or OnePager Express into a user account for use with Microsoft Project or Microsoft Excel, respectively.  OnePager Pro and Express operate in two modes: (1) The Add-in mode where OnePager is launched from “inside” Microsoft Project or Microsoft Excel, or (2) The Standalone mode where either OnePager Pro or OnePager Express is launched from a desktop icon, the Windows task-bar, or Start-Menu shortcuts.

Additionally, OnePager Bundle Standalone has the capability to build multi-project charts from individual Smartsheet exported files.
+
Our new OnePager Bundle offers capabilities of OnePager Pro and OnePager Express in both the Add-in and Standalone modes.  With the capabilities of OnePager Bundle installed in a user account there is generally no need to have OnePager Pro and/or OnePager Express also installed in the same user account.  Our recommendation to OnePager Bundle users, therefore, is to avoid having OnePager Pro and/or OnePager Express installed in the same user account along with OnePager Bundle.

Creating a Multi-Project Chart from a Multi-Project Smartsheet Source Plan File
+
There are, however, possible situation where a user account needs to retain OnePager Pro and/or OnePager Express but also needs the capabilities of OnePager Bundle.  For example, suppose the user account is operating with an older version of OnePager Pro and/or OnePager Express but needs the latest editions of OnePager products available in OnePager Bundle.  It is possible to operate within a user account with all three OnePager products if steps are taken to manage which of the products are enabled in the Add-in mode.

One method for using a single Smartsheet file is to add a field to your source plan with a field name of Project.  This name is recognized by OnePager Bundle (OPB) Standalone and is utilized in OPB multi-project Template Properties form shipped with the product. An example Smartsheet source plan with the Project field is shown below:
+
This article explains how to manage the Add-in modes of OnePager Pro, OnePager Express, and OnePager Bundle within the same user account.

After configuring your Smartsheet source plan with the Project field and the necessary multi-project schedule data, you can create a useful multi-project chart by following the steps described in the next section.
+
Suppose a user account has both OnePager Pro and OnePager Express installed in both the Add-in and Standalone modes and the need exists to install OnePager Bundle in this same user account.  This can be done by simply following the installation process for OnePager Bundle as directed by the normal installation process for OnePager products.

Launch OPB Standalone and connect to your Smartsheet account. Select the NEW option on the OnePager Bundle Start form and select the Smartsheet multi-project file shown here:
+
For more detailed information on installing OnePager Bundle, please see the article at:  Installing and Activating OnePager Bundle (Portal) 2.0.3-71.

During the OnePager Bundle installation process you are asked to enable OnePager Bundle as an Add-in by clicking the Launch from my desktop or from MS Project/Excel radio button on the Installation options form shown below:

Next, click the NEW button on the OnePager Bundle Start form. This accesses the OnePager choices (OPC) form where clicking the Select command in the Please select a source file sub-control group enables you to BROWSE Smartsheet ... files or to select a RECENT file as shown here:

Results from Installing OnePager Bundle with OnePager Pro and/or Express
<center>P71-8_5_3-71-(3)-11303031.png</center>
+

For this illustration, we'll select the source plan named BlueGrass Excel Project Plan-Bundle (on Smartsheet).  When we do this, the OPC form is expanded to look like this:
+
Making the selection to launch OnePager Bundle in both the Add-in and Standalone modes as shown above produces the following results:

<center></center>
+
1) OnePager Bundle disables OnePager Pro and/or OnePager Express as Add-ins to Microsoft Project and/or Microsoft Excel.
<center>P71-8_5_3-71-(3A-1)-11303031.png</center>
+

Before creating the NEW multi-project chart we must change the Template Properties form to support the creation of a chart from a multi-project source plan as described below.
+
2) OnePager Bundle enables itself as an Add-in option to both Microsoft Project and/or Microsoft Excel.

Setting up the OnePager Bundle Template Properties Form for a Multi-Project Chart
+
3) OnePager Pro, OnePager Express, and OnePager Bundle remain enabled and available to be individually launched in Standalone mode and the desktop icons, task-bar, and Start-Menu shortcuts are all available for use.

As shown above, the OnePager choices (OPC) form does not show that a multi-project Template Properties form is being used. Before proceeding further we must change the Template Properties form's setting so that a multi-project Template Properties form is used to create the chart. This is done by clicking the Change button in the Starting Template group of the form as shown below:
+
4) Using the double-left-click method on a .TAM or .TAT file launches OnePager Bundle in the Standalone mode since the OnePager Bundle product is the last product installed.

<center></center>
+
5) If you select the Launch from my desktop only option in the Installation options form shown above, OnePager Pro and/or OnePager Express are NOT disabled and remain available in Add-in mode for future use. In other words, the actions described in items 1) and 2) above are NOT taken by OnePager Bundle.
<center>P71-8_5_3-71-(3B)-11303031.png</center>
+

Clicking the Change button accesses the folder where OnePager Bundle stores Smartsheet Template Properties forms distributed with the product as shown above. Select the Multi-Project Gantt Chart - Detailed entry in the window shown above and click the Open button at the bottom of the form. When you click the Open button on the Open form shown above, OnePager changes the current Template Properties form to the Multi-Project Gantt Chart – Detailed Template.
+
The resulting configuration of the user account based upon the actions taken in items 1) through 3) above are that OnePager Bundle is available in the Add-in and Standalone modes and OnePager Pro and/or OnePager Express is available only in the Standalone mode.

After changing the Template Properties selection, type in the title of the chart and assure that the Task Selection sub-control group's controls are set to import the tasks you need for your chart.
+
The Add-in tabs for OnePager Pro and OnePager Express are available when you launch Microsoft Project and/or Microsoft Excel but clicking the Add-in tab from either Microsoft Project or Microsoft Excel launches OnePager Bundle.  Launching OnePager Pro or OnePager Express from their respective desktop icons launches OnePager Pro and/or OnePager Express in their Standalone modes.

Use the Smartsheet Source Plan to Create the Chart
+
Re-Enabling OnePager Pro and/or Express in Add-in Mode
You are now ready to create the multi-project chart.  First, click the Next> button (shown above) which takes you to the second page of the OPC form shown below:
+
If required in the future, it is possible to enable OnePager Pro and/or Express in the Add-in mode as long as you disable OnePager Bundle in the Add-in mode in Microsoft Project and/or Microsoft Excel.

<center></center>
+
Doing this requires that you access the COM Add-ins form for Microsoft Project and/or Microsoft Excel, disable OnePager Pro and/or OnePager Express, and assure that OnePager Bundle is enabled.
<center>P71-8_5_3-71-(4-1)-11303031.png</center>
+

Next, check your field mapping settings or make any Template Properties form adjustments.  When you are finished, click the Create new chart button on the second page. OnePager generates a multi-project chart that looks like this:

 +
<center>P71-2_0_4-71-(4)-02162022.png</center>
 +

 +
To enable OnePager Express, check the OnePager Express V7.1.2 checkbox ON and uncheck the OnePager Bundle V7.1.2 checkbox OFF so that it looks like this:
 +

 +
<center></center>

Launching OnePager from Microsoft Project with OnePager Bundle in Add-in Mode
 +

 +
Assuming that the configuration is such that OnePager Bundle is in Add-in mode, meaning that OnePager Pro can only be launched in Standalone mode, the sequence for using the Add-in tab on Microsoft Project, for example, looks like the following sequence:
 +

 +
1) Launching Microsoft Project and navigating to the ADD-INS tab looks like this:
 +

 +
<center></center>
 +
<center>P71-2_0_4-71-(6)-02162022.png</center>
 +

 +
2) Clicking the OnePager Bundle button launches OnePager Bundle as shown below:

 +
<center></center>
 +
<center>P71-2_0_4-71-(7)-02162022.png</center>
 +

 +
3) OnePager Bundle is now available to use to create a NEW chart, UPDATE an existing chart, or OPEN an existing chart.
 +

 +
Launching OnePager from Microsoft Excel with OnePager Bundle in Add-in Mode
 +

 +
For Microsoft Excel, assume the configuration is such that OnePager Bundle is in Add-in mode, meaning that OnePager Express can only be launched in Standalone mode, the sequence for using the Add-in tab on Microsoft Excel, for example, looks like the following sequence:
 +

 +
1) Launching Microsoft Excel and navigating to the Add-ins tab looks like this:
 +

 +
<center></center>
 +
<center>P71-2_0_4-71-(8)-02162022.png</center>

<center></center>
 +
<center>P71-2_0_4-71-(9)-02162022.png</center>
 +

 +
3) OnePager Bundle is now available to use to create a NEW chart, UPDATE an existing chart, or OPEN an existing chart

The chart above represents two separate projects using the swimlanes to organize the tasks/milestones for each project grouping. As the projects progress and additional projects are added, the additional swimlanes with their corresponding rows are added to the chart in future snapshots.

Updating Charts Created from Multiple Projects in a Single Smartsheet Source Plan
+
Suppose a user account has OnePager Bundle installed in the both the Add-in and Standalone mode and the need exists to install OnePager Pro and/or OnePager Express in this same user account.  This can be done by simply following the installation processes for OnePager Pro and/or OnePager Express as directed by the normal installation process for OnePager products.

Eventually you want to update your multi-project chart by either adding a snapshot or replacing a snapshot.  To perform either the add or the replace snapshot, the processes described in these two referenced article references that follow can be used.

The key to making updates to multi-project charts from multiple-projects contained in a single Smartsheet source plan is the proper management of the Smartsheet source plan data in the source packet.  Recall that the source packet contains the file or files that are to be used to either create or update a chart.  They are stored as file names and path names in the chart’s .TAM file, and can be accessed from the OnePager Data ribbon tool bar tab’s Selected file(s) button on the ribbon as shown below:
+
Installation Process for OnePager Pro - Example
<center></center>
+
During the OnePager Pro installation process you are asked to enable OnePager Pro as an Add-in by clicking the Launch from my desktop or from Microsoft Project radio button on the Installation options form shown below:
<center>P71-8_5_3-71-(6)-11303031.png</center>
+

Validating the contents of the source packet and assuring that these are the Smartsheet source plans that were updated is an essential step before proceeding to perform a chart update.

Creating a Multi-Project Chart from Individual Single-Project Smartsheet Source Plan Files
+
Results from Installing OnePager Pro and/or OnePager Express with OnePager Bundle
Introduction
+
Making the selection to launch OnePager Pro and/or OnePager Express in both the Add-in and Standalone modes as shown above produces the following results:

Suppose you have multiple Smartsheet source plans that are related and you want to create a single chart that shows the important schedule items and will be updated as the project proceeds.  Whenever chart updates are contemplated in the future OnePager Bundle Standalone requires that tasks being imported have unique task identifiers that OnePager Bundle Standalone can use to keep the updates aligned.  Smartsheet source plans have unique task identifiers built in and the data are imported when OnePager Bundle Standalone imports the Smartsheet source plan.  OnePager makes these unique task identifiers available in the OnePager Bundle Editor as the SmartsheetTaskID field which is discussed later.
+
1) OnePager Pro and/or OnePager Express disables OnePager Bundle as Add-ins to Microsoft Project and/or Microsoft Excel.

For more information on SmartsheetTaskID, please see the section in the article at: The SmartsheetTaskID Field 7.21.1-71
+
2) OnePager Pro and/or OnePager Express enables themselves as Add-in options to both Microsoft Project and/or Microsoft Excel.

Making a Multi-Project Chart from Separate Smartsheet Source Plans
+
3) OnePager Pro, OnePager Express, and OnePager Bundle remain enabled and available to be individually launched in Standalone mode and the desktop icons, task-bar, and Start-Menu shortcuts are all available for use.

To illustrate what is needed, let’s construct a multi-project chart from the BlueGrass Project Plan Smartsheet source plan by splitting original source plan into two distinct files as shown below:
+
4) Using the double-left-click method on a .TAM or .TAT file launches OnePager Pro or OnePager Express in the Standalone mode since these products are the last product installed.

<center>Merlin Project Phases 1 and 2</center>
+
5) If you select the Launch from my desktop only option in the Installation options shown above, OnePager Pro and/or OnePager Express are NOT disabled and remain available in Add-in mode for future use.  In other words, the actions described in items 1) and 2) above are not taken by OnePager Pro and/or OnePager Express.

<center></center>
+
The resulting configuration of the user account based upon the actions taken in items 1) through 3) above are that OnePager Pro and/or OnePager Express are available in the Add-in and Standalone modes and OnePager Bundle is available only in the Standalone mode.

Important Note
+
If required in the future, it is possible to enable Bundle in the Add-in mode as long as you disable OnePager Pro and/or OnePager Express in the Add-in mode for Microsoft Project and/or Microsoft Excel.

Each of the Smartsheet source plans above have unique SmartsheetTaskID fields with unique numbers generated by OnePager Bundle Standalone at source plan import.  It is important throughout the use of these Smartsheet source plans that these assigned unique SmartsheetTaskID numbers remain with their respective tasks.  Dates can change in the Smartsheet source plan's rows along with other updated information as the projects progress, but the SmartsheetTaskID number must remain associated with the task activity.  Tasks can be deleted, but the deleted SmartsheetTaskID should not be reused for a later snapshot.  OPB can process out of sequence SmartsheetTaskID numbers.
+
Doing this requires that you access the COM Add-ins form for Microsoft Project and/or Microsoft Excel, disable OnePager Pro and/or OnePager Express, and assure that OnePager Bundle is enabled.

Setting up the One Pager Bundle Template Properties Form for a Multi-Project Chart
The key to making updated multi-project charts from multiple Smartsheet source plan is the proper management of the Smartsheet data in the source packet.  Recall that the source packet contains the source plan(s) that are to be used to either create or update a chart.

When both OnePager Pro and OnePager Express are un-installed OnePager Bundle remains the only entry in the Microsoft Project and/or Microsoft Express COM Add-ins formsHowever, under this scenario, it is necessary for you to enable OnePager Bundle in both Microsoft Project and/or Microsoft Excel in order to get the Microsoft Project and/or Microsoft Excel ADD-INS tab to show on the respective tool bar ribbons.

They are stored as file names and path names in the chart’s .TAM file and can be accessed from the Data tab’s Selected file(s) button on the ribbon as shown below:

Installing OnePager Bundle with OnePager Pro and/or OnePager Express for Version 7.1 (P71-2_0_4-71-02282022.docx)

Introduction

Most OnePager users install either OnePager Pro and/or OnePager Express into a user account for use with Microsoft Project or Microsoft Excel, respectively. OnePager Pro and Express operate in two modes: (1) The Add-in mode where OnePager is launched from “inside” Microsoft Project or Microsoft Excel, or (2) The Standalone mode where either OnePager Pro or OnePager Express is launched from a desktop icon, the Windows task-bar, or Start-Menu shortcuts.

This article explains how to manage the Add-in modes of OnePager Pro, OnePager Express, and OnePager Bundle within the same user account.

Installing OnePager Bundle in a User Account with OnePager Pro and/or OnePager Express

Suppose a user account has both OnePager Pro and OnePager Express installed in both the Add-in and Standalone modes and the need exists to install OnePager Bundle in this same user account. This can be done by simply following the installation process for OnePager Bundle as directed by the normal installation process for OnePager products.

For more detailed information on installing OnePager Bundle, please see the article at: Installing and Activating OnePager Bundle (Portal) 2.0.3-71.

Installation Process for OnePager Bundle

During the OnePager Bundle installation process you are asked to enable OnePager Bundle as an Add-in by clicking the Launch from my desktop or from MS Project/Excel radio button on the Installation options form shown below:

P71-2 0 4-71-(1)-02162022.png
P71-2_0_4-71-(1)-02162022.png

Results from Installing OnePager Bundle with OnePager Pro and/or Express

Making the selection to launch OnePager Bundle in both the Add-in and Standalone modes as shown above produces the following results:

1) OnePager Bundle disables OnePager Pro and/or OnePager Express as Add-ins to Microsoft Project and/or Microsoft Excel.

2) OnePager Bundle enables itself as an Add-in option to both Microsoft Project and/or Microsoft Excel.

3) OnePager Pro, OnePager Express, and OnePager Bundle remain enabled and available to be individually launched in Standalone mode and the desktop icons, task-bar, and Start-Menu shortcuts are all available for use.

4) Using the double-left-click method on a .TAM or .TAT file launches OnePager Bundle in the Standalone mode since the OnePager Bundle product is the last product installed.

5) If you select the Launch from my desktop only option in the Installation options form shown above, OnePager Pro and/or OnePager Express are NOT disabled and remain available in Add-in mode for future use. In other words, the actions described in items 1) and 2) above are NOT taken by OnePager Bundle.

The resulting configuration of the user account based upon the actions taken in items 1) through 3) above are that OnePager Bundle is available in the Add-in and Standalone modes and OnePager Pro and/or OnePager Express is available only in the Standalone mode.

Re-Enabling OnePager Pro and/or Express in Add-in Mode

If required in the future, it is possible to enable OnePager Pro and/or Express in the Add-in mode as long as you disable OnePager Bundle in the Add-in mode in Microsoft Project and/or Microsoft Excel.

Doing this requires that you access the COM Add-ins form for Microsoft Project and/or Microsoft Excel, disable OnePager Pro and/or OnePager Express, and assure that OnePager Bundle is enabled.

For information on disabling and re-enabling OnePager Pro and OnePager Express, please see the article sections given in the table below:

Temporarily Disabling & Re-Enabling OnePager Pro for Microsoft Project 1.5.2-71
