Using the Chart Properties Form’s Legend Tab
+
About the Headers and Footers Tab for OnePager Pro
The Legend tab for the Chart Properties form looks like this:
+
The Header/Footer tab controls the content displayed in the chart for the chart's title and the six (6) header and footer elements as shown below:

<center></center>
+
<center></center>
<!--<center>X70-15_3_2-70-(1-1)-09162020.png</center>-->
+
<!--<center>P70-21_9_1-70-(1-1)-10192020.png</center>-->

As with the Template Properties form’s Legend tab, the controls in the Chart Properties form’s Legend tab are not enabled and cannot be edited until the Show legend checkbox is checked ON.  In the sub-sections that follow, each of the control groups and controls are discussed in detail.
+
The Header/Footer tab also controls the chart's title size where the title is displayed above the graph (the chart's title is controlled on the Main tab page).

Layout Control Group
+
Title Control Group
The Layout control group consists of two radio buttons that position the Legend either vertically in the chart or horizontally in the chart.  The default setting is Vertical and OnePager positions the Legend, when shown, in the upper right corner of the graph.
+
The Header/Footer tab also controls the chart's title size where the title is displayed above the graph.  The chart's title itself is entered from the OnePager Choices (OPC) form when the chart is first created.

The illustration below shows the Legend with the Horizontal radio button selected.
+
The title's content can be edited from the Chart Properties form's Main tab as discussed in the article at: Main Tab <!--21.1.1-70-->

<center></center>
+
Show Title
<!--<center>X70-15_3_1-70-(3)-10142019.png</center>-->
+

OnePager initially positions the Horizontal Legend at the bottom of the graph.  You can perform all the re-positioning, resizing, and editing operations on the Horizontal Legend as are available for the Vertical Legend.  Additionally, the Horizontal Legend’s right-click context menu can be accesses as well as each individual Legend Item’s right-click context menu and all allowable edits can be made.  The Horizontal Legend can be reconfigured to the Vertical Legend at any time and any edits made to the Horizontal Legend are retained in the Vertical Legend.
+
The Show title checkbox allows you to show or hide the title at the top of the graph area.  When the Show title checkbox is checked ON, the title appears in the chart above the graph.  When the Show title checkbox is checked OFF, the title is not displayed and it's allocated space above the graph is reduced vertically.

Legend-Item and Legend-Title Font Editing Controls
+
Title Font
There are two (2) sets of controls for editing font properties of the Legend-items and Legend-title.  For both sets of controls, clicking the dropdown button in the window to the immediate right of the control’s label access the standard OnePager Font properties form as shown below:
+
The Title Font dropdown button accesses to the standard OnePager Font properties form allowing you to change the title font's properties as shown below:

+
<!--<center>P70-21_9_1-70-(2-1)-10192020.png</center>-->

There are six (6) controls in the Font properties form shown above which are standard in most applications involving text editing.
+
Header Font
:1) Font Style, implemented as a dropdown list, includes the font styles installed on your computer.
+
Additionally, the Header/Footer font dropdown also accesses the standard Font properties form as discussed and shown in the illustration above.

:2)  The Size control is a dial window where you can either click up or down or type in a desired font size integer value.
+
Title Height
:3)  Clicking the Color dropdown accesses the standard OnePager Color Chooser form.
+
The Title Height control allows you to change the height of the title in inches or centimeters as shown here:

:4) The Bold button is a toggle that sets the selected text string as Bold text.
+
<center></center>
 +
<!--<center>P70-21_9_1-70-(3-1)-10192020.png</center>-->

:5)  The Italics button, also a toggle, sets the selected text string as Italic text.
+
1The Width of the title is considered to be entire  width of the graph area horizontally.

:6)  The Underline button operates as a toggle that sets the selected text strings Underline.
+
Repeat on all pages
Legend Position Controls
+
1The Repeat on all pages checkboxes are found in three (3) places on the Headers/Footers tab as shown above in the first illustration.  The Repeat on all pages checkbox tells OnePager that you want the chart title, and/or header and/or footer repeated on all pages of a multi-page output if the checkbox is checked ON.  If the checkbox is checked OFF for title, the title appears only on the first page in a multi-page output.  If the checkboxes are checked OFF for the Header and/or Footer, they do not appear on any page in a multi-page output.

The Legend position control group consists of a dropdown selection list and eight (8) radio buttons.
+
For more information on multi-page outputs, please see the article at: Creating Multi-Page Charts (Portal) <!--8.6.1-70-->

The four (4) selection options for the dropdown list as shown below:
+
Headers and Footers Control Group
<center></center>
+
There are two (2) sets of controls in this sub-group of the Header/Footers tab, one for headers and the second for footers. Each is activated by the checking of the respective Show Headers/footers checkbox as shown here:
<!--<center>X70-15_3_2-70-(5-2)-09162020.png</center>-->
+

For more information on Legend Position Options, please see the article at:  Legend Position Options for Multi-Page Outputs <!--15.2.1-70-->

Legend Width and Height Resizing Controls
+
Header/Footer Left, Header/Footer Center, and Header/Footer Right
There two (2) controls are for editing the width and length of the Legend box in the chart as shown below:
+
These six (6) dropdown boxes allow you to specify what source plan field you want to appear in each of the six (6) possible header/footer elements.  The choices for header/footer elements are shown below:

<center></center>
+
<center></center>

+
<!--<center>P70-21_9_1-70-(5-1)-10192020.png</center>-->

Legend resizing using the controls in the Legend tab of the Chart Properties form is done exactly like using the corresponding controls for the Comment box at the Chart Properties form's Comment Boxes tab.
+
When you make a choice from any of the the dropdown lists, OnePager fills in the associated information in the window to the immediate right of the element.  After you complete making your selections, the Headers/Footers tab’s Headers and Footers control group looks like this:

For more information on the resizing controls shown for the Comment box, please see this section of the article at:  Creating and Managing Comment Boxes-Box Size Controls for Comment Boxes <!--13.0.1-70-->

<!--<center>P70-21_9_1-70-(6-1)-10192020.png</center>-->

Background Color Controls
+
Using the above example, the chart would look like this:

The Background color controls for the Legend are positioned below the Width and Height controls shown in the illustration above. Clicking the window’s dropdown button accesses the standard Color Chooser form. You can use the standard Color Chooser form to select a background color for the Legend as well as use employ the No fill feature to give the Legend an appearance of transparency.  As with resizing the Legend, the controls and approach for using the No fill feature is the same as the approach for Comment boxes.
+
<center></center>
 +
<!--<center>P70-21_9_1-70-(7-1)-10192020.png</center>-->

Custom 1, Custom 2, Custom 3
Controlling Duplication of Legend Items
+
In the dropdown lists for the choices of header/footer elements there are three fields that you can customize by inserting your own text string in the window to the right as shown below:

The OnePager Legend can show all task bars and milestone symbols even if several of them have the same Color and Shape.  This often resulted in unnecessarily busy-looking Legends. There is a control in the Template Properties and Chart Properties forms at the Legend tab giving you a checkbox to specifically tell OnePager Do not duplicate task/milestones items in the Legend regardless of their differences in color and/or shape.
+
<center></center>
 +
<!--<center>P70-21_9_1-70-(7A-1)-10192020.png</center>-->

This is shown in the Chart Properties form’s Legend tab below:
+
When this is applied. the chart looks like this:

<center></center>
+
<center></center>
<!--<center>X70-15_3_2-70-(6-1)-09162020.png</center>-->
+
<!--<center>P70-21_9_1-70-(7B-1)-10192020.png</center>-->

As an example, the Legend below shows both a blue milestone symbol item and blue task bar with the Do not duplicate tasks/milestones checkbox checked OFF:
+
Header Height
<center></center>
+
The Header Height control in both the Header and Footer sub-control groups allows you to change the height of the header or footer in inches or centimeters depending on the Template Properties form being used. Increasing the Header or Footer height takes vertical space away from the chart as shown below where the header height and footer height were changed to 1.0 inches for illustrative purposes here:
<!--<center>X70-15_3_1-70-(7)-10142019.png</center>-->
+

When the checkbox is checked ON, only the task bar for each color appears in the Legend.
+
<center></center>

+
<!--<center>P70-21_9_1-70-(8-1)-10192020.png</center>-->
Legend items for milestone symbols can be suppressed by checking the Do not duplicate tasks/milestones checkbox is checked ON as shown below:
+

+
<center></center>
+
<!--<center>X70-15_3_1-70-(8)-10142019.png</center>-->
+

+
On occasion, it can become necessary when checking the Do not duplicate tasks/milestones checkbox ON and OFF to right-click on the Legend and then click the Rebuild Legend command in the Legend right-click context menu as shown below:
+

+
<center></center>
+
<!--<center>P70-15_3_1-70-(9)-10102019.png</center>-->-->
+

+
Performing this action tells OnePager to re-scan the graph and rebuild the Legend to assure that the appearance of the Legend corresponds to the information displayed in the Chart Editor.
+

+
Make Title Automatically and Legend Title
+

+
The Make title automatically checkbox, when checked ON (the default setting), tells OnePager to automatically generate the Legend title based on the Microsoft Excel source plan field name selected for Task Bar/Milestone Fill Color on the Task Bars or Milestone tabs on the Chart Properties form shown here:
+

+
<center></center>
+
<!--<center>X70-15_3_2-70-(10-1)-09162020.png</center>-->
+

+
When the checkbox is checked OFF, as shown below, the Legend title window under the Make title automatically checkbox is enabled and you can enter any desired Legend title for the Legend box displayed in the chart.
+

+
<center></center>
+
<!--<center>X70-15_3_2-70-(11-1)-09162020.png</center>-->
+

+
If the above illustrated edits are applied, the Legend looks like this:
+

+
<center></center>
+
<!--<center>X70-15_3_1-70-(12)-10142019.png</center>-->
+

+
If the Make title automatically checkbox is subsequently rechecked ON, the Legend title window is disabled.  Its edited contents may remain in the window and the title of the Legend in the chart reverts to the Legend title selected for Task Bar/Milestone Fill Color on the Task Bars or Milestone tabs on the Chart Properties form as shown here:
+

+
<center></center>
+
<!--<center>X70-15_3_2-70-(13-2)-09162020.png</center>-->
+

+
The Make title automatically checkbox and the Legend title window are disabled on the Template Properties form’s Legend tab.
+

+
Show Legend On: Control Group
+

+
The Show legend on: control group is provided to give you specific control over where the Legend is to appear on multi-page outputs.  The default setting in the Template Properties and Chart Properties form’s Legend tab is All pages.
+

+
You can click the Pages radio button in the control group to enable the entry of specific output page numbers or series of page numbers in the window to the immediate right of the radio button.
+

+
The entry window accepts:
+

+
:1) Single integer digit values separated by a comma.
+

+
:2) A starting page number followed by a dash and an ending page number.
+

+
:3) Combinations of these are acceptable if separated by a comma as shown below:
+

+
<center></center>
+
<!--<center>X70-15_3_2-70-(14-1)-09162020.png</center>-->
+

+
Show or Hide Legend Elements Control Group
+

+
The Show or hide legend elements control group provides options for how the Legend can be configured in the chart.  The Show or hide legend elements control group is shown here:
+

+
<center></center>
+
<!--<center>X70-15_3_2-70-(15-1)-09162020.png</center>-->
+

+
The default settings in the Template Properties and Chart Properties form’s Legend tab is to have the Title and Color/symbol items checkboxes checked ON.  When the Gantt-bar diagram checkbox is checked ON, with the Title and Color/symbol items checkboxes checked ON as well, the Legend looks like this:
+

+
<center></center>
+
<!--<center>X70-15_3_2-70-(16-1)-09162020.png</center>-->
+

+
When the Gantt-bar diagram and Milestone diagram checkboxes are checked ON, with the Title and Color/symbol items checkboxes checked ON, the Legend looks like this:
+

+
<center></center>
+
<!--<center>X70-15_3_2-70-(17-1)-09162020.png</center>-->
+

+
Freeze Legend When Updating
+

+
The Freeze legend when updating checkbox, where the default setting is OFF, prevents the Legend from being updated if new task bars or milestone symbols are found by OnePager when you add or replace a snapshot.  To prevent or freeze legend updates, check the Freeze legend when updating checkbox to ON in the Chart Properties form’s Legend tab as shown below:

About the Headers and Footers Tab for OnePager Pro

The Header/Footer tab controls the content displayed in the chart for the chart's title and the six (6) header and footer elements as shown below:

P70-21 9 1-70-(1-1)-10192020.png

The Header/Footer tab also controls the chart's title size where the title is displayed above the graph (the chart's title is controlled on the Main tab page).

Title Control Group

The Header/Footer tab also controls the chart's title size where the title is displayed above the graph. The chart's title itself is entered from the OnePager Choices (OPC) form when the chart is first created.

The title's content can be edited from the Chart Properties form's Main tab as discussed in the article at: Main Tab

Show Title

The Show title checkbox allows you to show or hide the title at the top of the graph area. When the Show title checkbox is checked ON, the title appears in the chart above the graph. When the Show title checkbox is checked OFF, the title is not displayed and it's allocated space above the graph is reduced vertically.

Title Font

The Title Font dropdown button accesses to the standard OnePager Font properties form allowing you to change the title font's properties as shown below:

P70-21 9 1-70-(2-1)-10192020.png

Header Font

Additionally, the Header/Footer font dropdown also accesses the standard Font properties form as discussed and shown in the illustration above.

Title Height

The Title Height control allows you to change the height of the title in inches or centimeters as shown here:

P70-21 9 1-70-(3-1)-10192020.png

1The Width of the title is considered to be entire width of the graph area horizontally.

Repeat on all pages

1The Repeat on all pages checkboxes are found in three (3) places on the Headers/Footers tab as shown above in the first illustration. The Repeat on all pages checkbox tells OnePager that you want the chart title, and/or header and/or footer repeated on all pages of a multi-page output if the checkbox is checked ON. If the checkbox is checked OFF for title, the title appears only on the first page in a multi-page output. If the checkboxes are checked OFF for the Header and/or Footer, they do not appear on any page in a multi-page output.

For more information on multi-page outputs, please see the article at: Creating Multi-Page Charts (Portal)

Headers and Footers Control Group

There are two (2) sets of controls in this sub-group of the Header/Footers tab, one for headers and the second for footers. Each is activated by the checking of the respective Show Headers/footers checkbox as shown here:

P70-21 9 1-70-(4-1)-10192020.png

Header/Footer Left, Header/Footer Center, and Header/Footer Right

These six (6) dropdown boxes allow you to specify what source plan field you want to appear in each of the six (6) possible header/footer elements. The choices for header/footer elements are shown below:

P70-21 9 1-70-(5-1)-10192020.png

When you make a choice from any of the the dropdown lists, OnePager fills in the associated information in the window to the immediate right of the element. After you complete making your selections, the Headers/Footers tab’s Headers and Footers control group looks like this:

P70-21 9 1-70-(6-1)-10192020.png

Using the above example, the chart would look like this:

P70-21 9 1-70-(7-1)-10192020.png

Custom 1, Custom 2, Custom 3

In the dropdown lists for the choices of header/footer elements there are three fields that you can customize by inserting your own text string in the window to the right as shown below:

P70-21 9 1-70-(7A-1)-10192020.png

When this is applied. the chart looks like this:

P70-21 9 1-70-(7B-1)-10192020.png

Header Height

The Header Height control in both the Header and Footer sub-control groups allows you to change the height of the header or footer in inches or centimeters depending on the Template Properties form being used. Increasing the Header or Footer height takes vertical space away from the chart as shown below where the header height and footer height were changed to 1.0 inches for illustrative purposes here:
