About View Modes On the One Pager Page Layout Tab
1) The OnePager Chart Editor operates in three user controlled view modes. View mode selection is done from the OnePager Page Layout tab on the OnePager Ribbon tool bar as shown here:

2) The three view modes are:
- (1) Normal View: The Normal View mode is the default view mode in the Chart Editor window when OnePager is launched. As such, the Normal View displayed in the Page Layout tab is no different from the display in the Chart Editor under any other OnePager tool bar tab.
- (2) Page Break View: The Page Break View mode displays in the Chart Editor window of the Page Layout tab and shows the entire chart sectioned into pages with the page numbers displayed as watermarks in each section.
- (3) Print Preview: The Print Preview mode displays in the Page Layout tab's Chart Editor window but shows each page of the multi-page set of pages with all titles, headers, footers, the time axis, the legend, swimlane labels, text columns, and all decorations created for the chart.
Entering the Multi-Page Mode
1) OnePager automatically enters the Multi-Page Mode whenever a change is made on the Page Layout tab or on the Chart Properties form's Page Layout tab that causes OnePager to build more than one page for the chart.
2) For example, changing the Height value in the Document Fitting group of the Page Layout tab shown above from 1 to Automatic.
3) As another example, inserting a manual page break is another way to enter the Multi-Page Mode.
4) In a similar fashion, OnePager leaves the Multi-Page Mode if you revert to Document Fitting group settings that calls for the width and height to be 1 x 1 or you remove all inserted manual page breaks accomplishing the same 1 x 1 view.
Normal View Mode
1) The default setting in OnePager with respect to view mode is Normal.
2) In this view mode, you can see the entire chart, even if the chart ultimately spans multiple pages.
3) When in Normal view mode, the selection button on the Page Layout tab is highlighted as shown below:

- a) In addition, the Page Break button is enabled in Normal view mode.
- b) In the Normal view mode, you can edit the chart.
- c) Please note that page breaks, if any, are not actually visible in the Normal view mode.
- d) If you want to enter manual page breaks by clicking the Page Break button on the Page Layout tab, OnePager automatically switches the view mode from Normal view mode to Page Break view mode.
Page Break View Mode
1) The Page Break view mode is similar to the Normal view mode, except that it superimposes page break lines and page numbers as watermarks on top of the graph in the Chart Editor.
2) The screenshot below shows a chart with page breaks and page numbers a part of the Page Break view:

3) The granularity of page breaks is determined vertically at the row level and horizontally at the smallest time axis division.
4) Page breaks snap to the nearest allowed location (horizontally or vertically) as you drags them with the mouse.
5) Pages are numbered from left to right and then from top to bottom.
6) Just like the Normal view mode, all editing controls and capabilities are available in the Page Break view mode in the Chart Editor.
Print Preview Mode
1) The Print Preview view mode shows each page as it appears in the clipboard, on a printer page, or on some other output media.
2) This Print Preview view mode allows you to see exactly how your chart appears on each page, including viewing repeated elements (e.g. swimlanes, rows, the legend, and time axes, etc.).
3) An example of a Print Preview is shown below for the four page example above:

4) The document is shown in a read-only page-by-page rendering where you have the capability to scroll from one page to the next.
5) You cannot move shapes up or down in Print Preview view mode nor can the legend be moved.
6) Depending on the options selected, various adornments elements of the chart can be repeated across some or all of the pages.
7) The following common page adornment elements can be repeated:
- (1) Swimlane Labels and Text Columns. Repeated as requested for additional horizontal pages. If a vertical page break splits a swimlane, then the swimlane label is repeated for the partial swimlane on the next page below it.
- (2) Time axis. Repeated as requested for additional vertical pages. If a horizontal page break splits a larger time axis division (e.g., splitting Q1 between Feb and Mar), then the time axis label is repeated on the next page to the right, provided space exists. Time Axis level cell stretching is taken into consideration.
- (3) Page Header. Repeated as requested on each page.
- (4) Page Footer. Repeated as requested on each page.
- (5) Title. Repeated as requested on each page.
- (6) Legend. Repeated as requested on each page.

8) It is at your option to determine what adornment elements are repeated and which are not by using the controls in the Template or the Chart Properties forms.
9) You can navigate to other OnePager tabs while remaining in the Print Preview view mode screen.
10) If any changes are made through the application of controls in other Chart Editor tabs that impact the chart’s size, the Print Preview view mode is updated accordingly.
11) OnePager attempts to make the best fit possible over multiple pages for adornment elements such as swimlane labels, text columns, and task names.
12) Additionally, OnePager attempts to split chart decorations based upon the placement of page breaks.
13) As an example, consider the following chart where a comment box is added at the junction of the four pages as shown below:

- b) Freeze Text Columns and Swimlane Labels: In a similar fashion, if the freeze text columns and swimlane labels command is selected and the chart is scrolled to the right, the text columns and swimlane labels in the chart remain visible as shown above.
- c) Freeze Bottom Time Axis: Selecting the Freeze Bottom time axis command makes the bottom time axis visible as shown below:
- d) Freeze All: The Freeze All command turns all freeze pane options On.
10) In the chart above both the top and bottom time axes are turned On and visible. Only the top time axis is subject to the freeze frame option if only the top time axis is displayed.
11) In the above chart, the top and bottom time axes remain visible along with the swimlane labels regardless of how the chart is scrolled up/down or left/right.
12) The Freeze None option turns Off all options related to the freeze pane feature.
Using the Page Break View Modes with the Freeze Pane Feature
13) You can navigate to other view modes after configuring the freeze pane options to your requirements.
14) For example, going from the Freeze Pane button to the Page Break button reveals the following:

15) The chart is fully editable in the Page Break view mode and all scrolling conforms to whatever freeze pane options are turned On.
16) When you click in a frozen text column or swimlane label, nothing happens.
17) If you double-click in a frozen text column or swimlane label, OnePager scrolls to a scroll position where the label is no longer frozen so that you can now select the text column or swimlane label, edit it, hide the text column or swimlane, or add an text column or swimlane.
18) If you select the Print Preview view mode with the freeze pane options used above, you see the output as it looks regardless of freezing, zoom factor, or chart scrolling.
19) Some controls on the Page Layout tab are disabled in the Print Preview view mode.
- a) For example, the Page Break button on the tab is disabled because you cannot add a manual page break in the Print Preview view mode.
- b) Likewise, the Freeze Panes button is disabled. The Print preview for a four (4) page example is shown below:
