OnePager Pro (OPP) and Express (OPX) version 6.0 provide the new capabilities summarized in this article. The sub-sections below provide introductory material and links to more detailed discussions of these new features:

OnePager Pro (OPP) and Express (OPX) version 6.0  provides additional capabilities for the user as described in this article below.  OnePager version 6.0's new features are a response to our customers.
+
:(1) Conditional Import Filters.

Conditional Import
+
:(2)  Additional Text Columns.

Version of OnePager Pro and Express prior to 6.0 required you to insert a column (i.e., Flag field) into your source plan that tells OnePager which rows to import.
+
:(3) Unlimited Field Mapping.

1) There are occasions where you may not be able to modify a Microsoft Project or Excel source plan thus you are unable to add the required import control columns.
+
Conditional Import Filters
2) There are also occasions, probably more frequently experienced, where you may need to go back, change a Flag field.
+
Versions of OnePager Pro and Express prior to 6.0 require you to either Select All tasks or set up a Flag field in your source plan that tells OnePager which ones to importThese fields are typically Boolean fields such as  Flag1-20 in Microsoft Project, although you can also use Numeric fields where 1 means Yes (bring in this row) and 0 means No (skip it).

3) Finally, there are occasions where you would like to import a source plan row but only when the contents of a specified column holds a certain value or range of values.
+
This simple approach to controlling the import of source plan rows has definite limitations:

4) For all three of the above examples described above before version 6.0 making appropriate changes required starting over.
+
:(1) The selection method can only use field types that can mean "Yes" or "No" such as Flag and Number fields.

5) Version 6.0 of all our desktop products now have the capability for you to establish "rules" that are applied at the point where OnePager imports your source file(s) such that it is easy to first specify and subsequently change the source file columns to maximize your control over the rows that OnePager imports.
+
:(2) Generating a lot of different project views from one source uses up a lot of Flag fields!

6) Please take a moment to look at the example provided in the link just below:
+
:(3) You cannot select rows based on a range of values such as  "1/1/2019 > Start Date > 1/1/2017.

:Read More... Conditional Import 0.4.1.1-60
+
:(4) You cannot select rows based on keywords in Text fields such as Resource Names contains Smith.

Expanded Row and Task Labels
+
In OnePager Pro and Express version 6.0, you still have the traditional Select-All and Yes/No ways of selecting rows.  But now you have a new Conditional Import Filters engine that can turn more general conditional rules into "Yes" or "No" decisions that select rows.  For example, you could import only those rows satisfying the two conditions "Resource Names contains Smith" AND "Start Date < 6/1/2017".    You can specify such rules based on any field in your source plan with no limit on the number of fields or rules.  And you can combine rules using  AND or  OR operators.  Often users configure Microsoft Project and Excel source plans with additional fields to carry along important data needed to conduct schedule conversations.  For example, it is common to name Resource Categories assigned to individual tasks, identify the Phase a task is assigned to, and place keywords in Text fields for the purposes of recording risk assessments.    With the Conditional Import Filters feature, combinations of such field can provide conditions for selecting rows when making new and updated project views.

Expanded Row Labels
+
All editions of OnePager Pro/Express version 6.0 allow you this greater flexibility in defining source plan row-import conditions.

OnePager Pro/Express previously supported just one row labeling option.
+
Detailed articles for using Conditional Import can be found at this link:  Conditional Import Filters (Portal) <!--7.18.1-60-->

1) With version 6.0, OnePager will support up to five (5) additional snapshot-independent row labels which will appear on the left side of the project view and immediately to the right of the row label if it is displayed.
+
Please take a moment to look at the Read More... article below for an overview of Conditional Import Filters:

2) Controls for these additional row labels is provided in the Project-View Properties and Template form's Rows/Swimlanes tab in the Labels" group of controls.
+
:Read More... Conditional Import Filters for OnePager <!--0.4.1.1-60-->

3) With these controls you may specify what Microsoft Project or Excel source plan column's data should be imported to populate the column in the project view.  With the same controls you mat format the properties you desire OnePager to apply to the data imported in terms of font style, alignment, format, and row-label height.
+
Additional Text Columns
Task Labels
+
OnePager Pro/Express previously supported just one text column option - previously called the Row Label.  Our users requested additional text columns so that source plan information could be displayed within the row as an adjunct to Tasks/Milestones labels within the graph.

4) Before version 6.0 you could create task labels that included the Task Name, Start Date, Finish Date, % Complete, and UniqueID. Version 6.0 expands the amount of information that can be associated with a task label by providing you with snapshot-dependent access to data from columns in your source data plan(s). Once so specified, these data may be formatted and presented with the task or milestone label in the project view.
+
OnePager version 6.0 now supports up to five (5) additional snapshot-dependent text columns which are mapped to source fields and appear on the left side of the project view.    Controls for these additional text columns are in the Project-View Properties (PVP) and Template form's Rows/Swimlanes tab in the Labels group of controls.     With these controls you can specify which source plan fields to import and populate the cells in each text column.    And you can format cell properties such as font style, alignment, format, and text column width.  Finally, you can override the values imported from the source field by entering your custom values into a cell.   Once you have entered such a maverick value, that cell will no longer respond to changing values of the source field.

5) Control over the selection and formatting of this additional task label data is provided in the Project-View Properties and Template form's Task Bars and Milestones tab by clicking the Gantt Bar Label Properties or the Milestone Label Properties buttons as illustrated below:
+
An example showing the usage of the Additional Text Columns feature is given in the article whose link is below:

<center>Place PVP Form Task Bars Tab here</center>
+

6) Clicking either of the buttons shown above will bring up an expanded form as shown below:
+
Unlimited Field Mapping
<center>Place Task/Milestone Labels form here</center>
+
The Unlimited Field Mapping (UFM) feature lets you add an unlimited number of source data fields to your OnePager project view after you have created it.  You can map any previously-omitted source plan field to any presentation purpose such as color, Text Columns, or Conditional Formatting.    This feature eliminates the need to start over when you find that you need to display additional source plan field values in OnePager.  For example, you may need to display a Microsoft Project Text field that wasn't previously imported in an Additional Text Column discussed above.

7) An example showing the usage of Expanded Rows and Task Labels is given in the article whose link is below:
+
Our intent is to provide you a more efficient way to create a new project view and then tailor it once you see it and realize that it is missing some information.

:Read More... Expanded Row and Task Labels 0.4.1.3-60
+
:(1) As such, the feature is limited to single-snapshot project views. The UFM feature is turned off for project views with more than one snapshot.

Retroactive Column Mapping
+
:(2) This feature removes the limit on the number of source plan fields that can be imported into OnePager.  For example, you can now add as many Conditional-Formatting rules as you need, using as many fields as you need.

1) Where the new Conditional Import feature of OnePager version 6.0 allows you to reconfigure the import of Microsoft Project or Excel rows before the project view is created, the Retroactive Column Mapping feature allows you to reconfigure your column mapping (i.e., use of source plan columns) after a project view is created.
+
:(3) To add the new field, go to the Project-View Properties form and select the new field from the drop-down list for some purpose.  Then press OK and watch as the new field is imported and the chart is updated.

2) Like the Conditional Import feature, this feature is designed to eliminate the need for you to start over if, for any reason, you wish to utilize a different or additional source plan column for another purpose.
+
Additionally, we've changed the Other Columns tab on the Template and Project-View Properties formsThe new tab is called Field Mappings and is simplified to focus on these frequently-used presentation purposes:

3) Our intent here is to provide you a more efficient way for you to create a new project view for the first time and to efficiently tailor it to fit your schedule conversation needs.
+
:(1) Percent-complete

:a) As such, the feature is limited to single snapshot project views.
+
:(2) Critical-path

:b) This feature does not increase the number of columns that can be mapped from a source plan to your project view.  Rather it makes it much easier to make a change to the column mapping after a first project view is created and needs to be modified with respect to column mapping.
+
:(3) Task-name

4) An example is provided at the link shown below:
+
:(4) Start date

+
:(5) Finish date

Event Link Upgrades
+
:(6) Baseline start date

The Event Link presentation capabilities are enhanced in OnePager version 6.0 in three ways:
+
:(7) Baseline finish date

:(1) The formatting of event links is enhanced by providing more options for link line styles (e.g., solid, dashed, dotted, dash-dotted, etc.) and arrow styles (e.g., flat arrow, square arrow, rounded arrow, one direction, and two direction).  Additional controls are available to controlling the path of the link and the formatting of the link label or comment.
+
:(8) Deadline date

:(2) Most important, we are providing a mechanism by which you may control the import of event links from your Microsoft Project source plan and format the data drive link presentation in the project view.
+
For OnePager Express there are only seven (7) presentation purposes on this page because OnePager Express does not support display of critical path information.  Please note that the purposes on this Field Mappings tab are not the only ones eligible for UFM.  Other eligible presentation purposes reside on the Rows and Swimlanes, Task Bars, and Milestones tab pages.

Line Styles, Arrow Styles, Path Controls, and Link Labeling
+
For OnePager Pro Unlimited Field Mapping can import Enterprise Custom Fields (ECF).  Care should be taken, however, that you have turned on the ECF function in the current Template and established your connection to the project server before creating the project view.

1) The illustration below shows all the line styles and arrow styles now available with OnePager Pro version 6.0.
+
The link shown below provides more details on the Unlimited Field Mapping feature and should be read before attempting to utilize this feature:

<center>Place Table of Line Styles, Arrow Styles Here</center>
+
:Read More... Overview of Unlimited Field Mapping <!--0.4.1.5-60 Renamed-->

2) These options are available by the standard method of right clicking on an event link and making the desired changes in the Event Link Properties form that appears.
+
Other Enhancements
3) Additionally, you may make global event link property selections via the Template form or the Project-View Properties form's Event Link tabs
+
OnePager Pro and Express version 6.0 has some other enhancement, including the following:

4) Event Link Path controls are provided by way of slide bars available at the Event Link tab in both the Project-View Properties form and the Template form.
+
Automatic Resizing of Text Columns and Swimlane Labels
Data Driven Event Links
+
Resizing of Swimlane Labels and Text Columns has always been supported by a drag and drop operation performed on the vertical right side border of the Swimlane Label or Text Column.  The Auto-resizing feature allows you to do this with a simple double-click.  Position the mouse on the vertical right side border of the Swimlane Label or Text Column and just perform a double-click.  OnePager will automatically resize the width of the Swimlane label or Text Column to fit the text of the largest content in the column.  As a useful tip, when using this enhancement, make sure that the Lock Background checkbox is unchecked on the PVP form's Advanced tab.

1) With OnePager Pro version 6.0 we are not only supporting the manually inserted Event Links but are providing the capability to import event links from your Microsoft Project source plan under the control of OnePager Pro.
+
:Read More... Resizing Text Columns or Swimlane Labels <!--12.8.1-60-->

2)  OnePager Pro version 6.0 will import but not necessarily display all event links from the selected tasks coming from your Microsoft Project source plan.  The capability to import links or not from Microsoft Project can be turned on and off.
+
Moved Visibility of Task Selection Flag and Conditional Import Rules from PVP form's Advanced Tab to PVP form's Main Tab
3) When the feature is turned on via a checkbox in the Project-View Properties form's Event Links tab, you may specify the conditions under which you want OnePager Pro to import links.  Various filtering mechanisms are provided to assist you where a large number of tasks in your Microsoft Project source plan contain event links otherwise know as Predecessors.
+
To enhance readability of the PVP form's Advanced tab, we moved the Task Selection Flag dropdown list and the access to the Conditional Import Rules form to the PVP form's Main tab.

4) Once the source plan's event links are imported and displayed, you have the ability to edit them as you would a manually inserted event link.
+
Replaced the Template form's Other Columns Tab and with the Template form's Field Mappings Tab and Included this tab on the PVP form
5) There is an example provided in the article link below:
+
To simplify the new Unlimited Field Mapping feature we redid the Template form's Other Columns tab and reconfigured it to become the Field Mappings tab.  We also included this tab on the PVP form.

Additional Date Formats were added to the Time-Axis Annotations Available
Time Axis Upgrades
+
Additional date formats now cover those formats commonly used on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean.  This brings all time-axis week numbers into ISO compliance.

There are two major enhancements associated with the management of time axes in OnePager version 6.0 project views:
+
Warning Message Added to Inform Users that a OnePager Express Template is about to be Used for a OnePager Pro NEW Workflow and Vice Versa
:(1) The redesign and enhancement of the Time Axis Properties form previously titled the Advanced time-axis features" form.  Recall that the Advanced time-axis features form was accessible by either right clicking on the project view's time axis itself or by clicking the Configure time-axis button on the Main tab of the Project-View Properties and Template forms.
+
Since Templates for OnePager Pro and Express differ, we've added this warning message to prevent confusion when you are about to associate a OnePager Express Template with a OnePager Pro action or vice versa.

:(2) The addition of manual editing for the time axis.  This enhancement allows you to left click on a time axis row and move that time axis row up and down on the project view with your mouse using drag and drop.  Where your project view displays a time axis on the top and bottom of the project view you may drag and drop time axis rows on either time axis displayed independently of one another.  Further, using the left click on the mouse you can select an individual cell or cells of the time axis and make changes to the cell's background color and font properties,
+
Single Left-Click in Text Column Cells Allows Editing of The Cell's Text with the Editing Tools on the OnePager Tool Bar
Enhanced Time Axis Properties Form
+
When you have a project view with a single or multiple Additional Text Column you can use the editing tools on the OnePager tool bar to edit the text in the selected cells.

1) The new Time Axis Properties form is shown belowIt has four (4) tabs just like its previous counterpart but it is reorganized into two major groups. An example of the first three tabs is shown below:
+
Doing a left-click in any Additional Text Column text cell will select the entire row (including the single or multiple text column cells and activate the tool bars editing tools.  When you select  multiple text column cells with a left click, this action will select all text column cells and any editing actions will apply to all selected cells.

<center>Place Time Axis Properties form Middle Tab here</center>
+
The editing tools available are in the Font, Format, and Alignment sections of the tool bar.

2)  Note that the Labels group is reorganized but the basic controls labeling elements of the time axis at the tab's designated level remain.
+
Additionally, the left-click can be used in combination with the CTL key to select multiple non-contiguous rows or with the Shift key to select a set of contiguous rows for text cell editing.  Using the editing tools on the OnePager tool bar is a faster way to edit  Additional Text Column text cells.

3) The Formatting group of controls is significantly enhanced specifically with a greater number of controls over the borders associated with that time axis' level. Note that border line styles and colors are now available for use.
+
:Read More... Editing Text Columns or Swimlane Labels <!--12.3.1-60-->

4)  The Advanced tab of the Time Axis Properties form is shown here:
+
Using the Slow Double-Click Sequence to Select and Edit the Contents of a Single Text Column Cell with the Editing Tools on the OnePager Tool Bar
<center>Place Time Axis Properties form Advanced Tab here</center>
+
There is a mouse clicking technique called the slow double-click that we use to help you select a single text column cell where there are multiple text columns.  The slow double-click can be a little tricky but once you have it mastered it allows you to use the OnePager tool bar's editing tools as described in the previous subsection to edit the text content of a single text column cell.

5)  The tab is reorganized so that calendar related controls are in the top group - Calendar Settings.
+
The slow double-click is a two-step set of actions on your left-click key.  First, position the mouse on the text column cell you which to select.  Do a left-click and wait between a half-second and two-seconds before doing your second left-click.  When performed in this sequence with the appropriate delay between successive clicks OnePager will select a single text column cell.  Once selected, all OnePager tool bar editing tools are available for you to use as described above.

6) The primary enhancement is a new feature which allows you to highlight selected days of the week. For example, if your project team meeting is always on a Wednesday, you may just check the Wednesday checkbox and specify a color and OnePager will display that color vertically in the project view.. This feature may also be used to highlight weekend days by checking the Saturday and Sunday checkboxes.
+
:Read More... Editing Text Columns or Swimlane Labels <!--12.3.1-60-->

7) In the Project Settings group we've retained the controls by which you may set the boundaries of the count up or down from the beginning or end of the project.  You may also access the projects start and finish date controls on the Main tab of the Project-View Properties form by clicking the click here hot spot.  This will close the Time Axis Properties form and take you to the Main tab of the Project-View Properties form.

Manual Editing of the Time Axis
+

+
8) Version 6.0 of OnePager has a limited drag and drop capability for the time axes, both top and bottom.  When all three (3) levels are displayed, you may use your mouse to left click on a level and move it up or down as you desire.  If the Corner is being used to display the time axis level the time axis labels will be automatically moved to match your drag and drop action.  You may independently drag and drop levels on both the top and bottom time axes if both are displayed.
+

+
9) As mentioned above, you may left click on any time axis cell or cells and change the background color of the cell or the font color or both.  It should be noted that making such changes will make the cell or cells so change a maverick cell in the same sense that making changes to an individual task will make that task a maverick.  Controls are provided to reset mavericked cells back to their default property values.
+

+
10) The article found at the link below provides some interesting examples of what can be done with these Time Axis Upgrades.

About OnePager Version 6.0

OnePager Pro (OPP) and Express (OPX) version 6.0 provide the new capabilities summarized in this article. The sub-sections below provide introductory material and links to more detailed discussions of these new features:

(1) Conditional Import Filters.
(2) Additional Text Columns.
(3) Unlimited Field Mapping.

Conditional Import Filters

Versions of OnePager Pro and Express prior to 6.0 require you to either Select All tasks or set up a Flag field in your source plan that tells OnePager which ones to import. These fields are typically Boolean fields such as Flag1-20 in Microsoft Project, although you can also use Numeric fields where 1 means Yes (bring in this row) and 0 means No (skip it).

This simple approach to controlling the import of source plan rows has definite limitations:

(1) The selection method can only use field types that can mean "Yes" or "No" such as Flag and Number fields.
(2) Generating a lot of different project views from one source uses up a lot of Flag fields!
(3) You cannot select rows based on a range of values such as "1/1/2019 > Start Date > 1/1/2017.
(4) You cannot select rows based on keywords in Text fields such as Resource Names contains Smith.

All editions of OnePager Pro/Express version 6.0 allow you this greater flexibility in defining source plan row-import conditions.

Detailed articles for using Conditional Import can be found at this link: Conditional Import Filters (Portal)

Please take a moment to look at the Read More... article below for an overview of Conditional Import Filters:

Read More... Conditional Import Filters for OnePager

Additional Text Columns

OnePager Pro/Express previously supported just one text column option - previously called the Row Label. Our users requested additional text columns so that source plan information could be displayed within the row as an adjunct to Tasks/Milestones labels within the graph.

An example showing the usage of the Additional Text Columns feature is given in the article whose link is below:

Read More... Additional Text Columns

Unlimited Field Mapping

The Unlimited Field Mapping (UFM) feature lets you add an unlimited number of source data fields to your OnePager project view after you have created it. You can map any previously-omitted source plan field to any presentation purpose such as color, Text Columns, or Conditional Formatting. This feature eliminates the need to start over when you find that you need to display additional source plan field values in OnePager. For example, you may need to display a Microsoft Project Text field that wasn't previously imported in an Additional Text Column discussed above.

Our intent is to provide you a more efficient way to create a new project view and then tailor it once you see it and realize that it is missing some information.

(1) As such, the feature is limited to single-snapshot project views. The UFM feature is turned off for project views with more than one snapshot.
(2) This feature removes the limit on the number of source plan fields that can be imported into OnePager. For example, you can now add as many Conditional-Formatting rules as you need, using as many fields as you need.
(3) To add the new field, go to the Project-View Properties form and select the new field from the drop-down list for some purpose. Then press OK and watch as the new field is imported and the chart is updated.

Additionally, we've changed the Other Columns tab on the Template and Project-View Properties forms. The new tab is called Field Mappings and is simplified to focus on these frequently-used presentation purposes:

(1) Percent-complete
(2) Critical-path
(3) Task-name
(4) Start date
(5) Finish date
(6) Baseline start date
(7) Baseline finish date
(8) Deadline date

For OnePager Express there are only seven (7) presentation purposes on this page because OnePager Express does not support display of critical path information. Please note that the purposes on this Field Mappings tab are not the only ones eligible for UFM. Other eligible presentation purposes reside on the Rows and Swimlanes, Task Bars, and Milestones tab pages.

For OnePager Pro Unlimited Field Mapping can import Enterprise Custom Fields (ECF). Care should be taken, however, that you have turned on the ECF function in the current Template and established your connection to the project server before creating the project view.

The link shown below provides more details on the Unlimited Field Mapping feature and should be read before attempting to utilize this feature:

Other Enhancements

OnePager Pro and Express version 6.0 has some other enhancement, including the following:

Automatic Resizing of Text Columns and Swimlane Labels

Read More... Resizing Text Columns or Swimlane Labels

Moved Visibility of Task Selection Flag and Conditional Import Rules from PVP form's Advanced Tab to PVP form's Main Tab

To enhance readability of the PVP form's Advanced tab, we moved the Task Selection Flag dropdown list and the access to the Conditional Import Rules form to the PVP form's Main tab.

Replaced the Template form's Other Columns Tab and with the Template form's Field Mappings Tab and Included this tab on the PVP form

To simplify the new Unlimited Field Mapping feature we redid the Template form's Other Columns tab and reconfigured it to become the Field Mappings tab. We also included this tab on the PVP form.

Additional Date Formats were added to the Time-Axis Annotations Available

Using the Slow Double-Click Sequence to Select and Edit the Contents of a Single Text Column Cell with the Editing Tools on the OnePager Tool Bar
