Conditional Formatting Rules for Task Bar/Milestone Symbol Decorations for OnePager for Version 7.2

From OnePager Documentation
Jump to: navigation, search

Introduction

Illustrations used in this article are from OnePager Pro using data from Microsoft Project but the features, functions, controls, and manual edits apply equally to other OnePager editions that import from data sources like Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project Online, Microsoft Project Server, Microsoft Project for the Web, Smartsheet, Oracle Primavera P6, Planisware Enterprise, Asana, and Wrike.

Conditional Formatting Rules and associated forms are provided in OnePager for three sets of objects:

  • Tasks & Milestones
  • Text Columns & Rows
  • Swimlanes

The purpose of this article is to introduce the Conditional Formatting for Task & Milestones form and provide some examples of how it can be used to highlight your chart.

About Conditional Formatting Rules for Tasks & Milestones

P72-11 15 3-72-(0E-1)-07192023.png

When accessed for the first time, the form is configured with a blank rule as shown above.

Basic versus Advanced Conditional Formatting for Tasks & Milestones Forms

In previous versions of OnePager editions, the Conditional Formatting for Tasks & Milestones form provided capabilities to create conditional formatting rules for these basic decoration components:

  • Applies to (e.g., task bars and/or milestone symbols)
  • Foreground Color
  • Taskbar Shape
  • Milestone Shape
  • Fill Pattern
  • Background Color
  • Height %
  • Border
  • Task Labels (previously Label font and Label position)
  • Legend Text
  • Priority (used to sequence conditional formatting rules)

In order to incorporate the task bar/milestone symbol decorations described here and to keep the Conditional Formatting for Tasks & Milestones form manageable, we added controls so you can select between the basic decoration components listed above and the advanced decoration components that are documented in this article. These control radio buttons are shown here:

P72-11 15 3-72-(0B-1)-07192023.png

When the Advanced radio button is clicked, the Conditional Formatting for Tasks & Milestones form is expanded to include six (6) additional columns added between the Task Labels and Legend Text columns as listed and shown below:

  • Dates
  • Task Representation
  • Percent Complete
  • Baselines
  • Critical Segments
  • Deadlines & Endpoints

Manual Adjustment of Column Widths

All Conditional Formatting Rules forms permit you to adjust the width of the columns by placing the cursor in the heading cell at its edge where the cursor turns into a double-arrow shape. Making a left-click on your mouse allows you to pull the width of the heading cell to the left or right to either make it wider or narrower. This is useful for inserting text into those columns that accept typed in text. OnePager remembers the width of these columns for future accesses to OnePager. However, it is not recommended that you make any column zero (0) width.

Discussion and Examples

In each of the sub-sections which follow, there are discussions and examples of how to use the available conditional formatting rules to alter the appearance of task bar/milestone symbols and their decoration properties. It is assumed that the reader has an overall acquaintance with the introductory and basic conditional formatting rule features and controls.

For more detailed introductory information on Conditional Formatting rules, please see the articles at the link below:

Application to OnePager Supported Source Plan Types

Not all source plans imported to OnePager provide data that can be used to support all of the conditional formatting rule columns available. For example, Microsoft Excel does not provide source plan data to support critical segments. While most source plan types supported by OnePager Bundle do provide data that can be used for creating conditional formatting rules, there are exceptions where the source plan type does not provide the data needed to support the feature.

Additionally, there are instances where OnePager’s distributed Template Properties forms are configured with source plan column names that can serve as stand-in data fields for certain conditional formatting rule columns. This is most often done for Deadlines & Endpoints. The user is encouraged to define user defined fields in the source plan (if supported) to serve such features and to populate these fields with appropriate data.

The table below shows rows for each field where OnePager has access to source plan data. Each column in the table below represents the source plan type supported by OnePager. An X in the cell indicates that OnePager supports conditional formatting for that field for the source plan type. A NO in the cell indicates that OnePager does not provide conditional formatting support for the field for the source plan type.

Conditional Formatting Rules for Tasks & Milestones

The following sub-sections describe how to formulate conditional formatting rules for task bar/milestone symbol decorations using this new feature.

Conditional Formatting Rules for Task Labels

Task Labels can be shown or hidden and when shown are adjacent to the task bar/milestone symbol to which they are associated. The conditional properties of task bar/milestone symbol Task Labels are Label Position, Label Font Properties, and its Show/Hide Property.

Using the Conditional Formatting for Tasks & Milestones form, you can create a conditional formatting rule that establishes the conditions under which a data value associated with the task bar/milestone symbol can control the display of any or all of these conditional properties. As shown below, when the Task Labels cell of a conditional formatting rule is left-clicked, OnePager accesses the Task/Milestone Labels form as shown below in the example rule:

P72-11 15 3-72-(1-2)-07192023.png

The illustration above shows the Task Bars tab of the Chart Properties form including the Conditional Formatting for Tasks & Milestones form, and the Task/Milestone Labels form. Note that the Columns to show: Basic radio button is selected because the Task Labels column is always shown in the form. The following step sequence can be used to set up conditional formatting for Task Labels:

1) Access the Conditional Formatting for Tasks & Milestones form by clicking the Manage Rules… button pointed to by Step 1 in the illustration above.
2) Clicking the Manage Rules… button accesses the Conditional Formatting for Tasks & Milestones form where the available blank rule is filled in with the desired Field, Operator, and Value at Step 2.
3) The Task Labels cell is left-clicked at Step 3 to access the Task/Milestone Labels form.
4) To enable the controls in the form, click the Show task/milestone label checkbox ON at Step 4. Unchecking the Show task/milestone label checkbox to OFF hides the task bar/milestone symbol’s Task Labels wherever the rule is TRUE. If the Show task/milestone label checkbox is checked OFF all controls on the form are disabled and the Use label defaults becomes the selected option.
5) The Label Position dropdown can be accessed by clicking on the dropdown arrow and one of the available position commands can be selected in Step 5.
6) Clicking the dropdown arrow for the Label Font access the Font properties form at Step 6 where the various controls are used to make the desired Font properties selections.
7) Clicking the OK button on the Font properties form and on the Task/Milestone Labels form closes these two forms and you can continue editing the existing rule, create another rule, or leave the Conditional Formatting for Tasks & Milestones form by clicking the OK button.

Applying the steps described above, results in a modified chart that looks like this:

P72-11 15 3-72-(1A)-02062023.png

Conditional Formatting for Date Labels

Date Labels can be shown or hidden and when shown are adjacent to the task bar/milestone symbol to which they are associated. Date Labels may or may not be shown with Task Labels. The conditional properties of task bar/milestone symbol Date Labels are Start Date Position, Finish Date Position, Label Font Properties, and Start/Finish Date Show/Hide Properties.

Using the Conditional Formatting for Tasks & Milestones form, you can create a conditional formatting rule that establishes the conditions under which a data value associated with the task bar/milestone symbol can control the display of any or all of these conditional properties. Note that the Columns to show: Advanced radio button is selected because the Dates column is an extension to the form. As shown below, when the Date Labels cell of a conditional formatting rule is left-clicked, OnePager accesses the Date Labels form as shown below in the example rule:

P72-11 15 3-72-(2-2)-07192023.png

The illustration above shows the Task Bars tab of the Chart Properties form including the Conditional Formatting for Tasks & Milestones form, and the Task/Milestone Labels form. The following step sequence can be used to set up conditional formatting for Date Labels:

1) Access the Conditional Formatting for Tasks & Milestones form by clicking the Manage Rules… button pointed to by Step 1 in the illustration above.
2) Clicking the Manage Rules… button accesses the Conditional Formatting for Tasks & Milestones form where the available blank rule is filled in with the desired Field, Operator, and Value at Step 2.
3) The Dates cell is left-clicked at Step 3 to access the Date Labels form shown above.
4) To enable the Start Date and/or Finish Date controls in the form, click the associated Show Start/Finish Date checkboxes ON at Steps 4 and/or Step 6. Unchecking the Show Start Date and/or Show Finish Date checkbox to OFF hide the Date Labels wherever the rule is TRUE. If the Show Start Date and/or Show Finish Date checkboxes are checked OFF all controls on the form are disabled and the Use label defaults becomes the selected option.
5) At Steps 5 and/or Step 7, the Start Date Position/Finish Date Position dropdowns are accessed by clicking on the dropdown arrows and the Left and Right commands are selected in these two steps.
6) Clicking the dropdown arrow for the Label Font at Step 8 access the Font properties form where the various controls are used to make the desired selection.
7) Clicking the OK button on the Font properties form and the Task/Milestone Labels forms closes these forms and you can continue editing the existing rule, create another rule, or leave the Conditional Formatting for Tasks & Milestones form by clicking the OK button.

Applying the steps described above, results in a modified chart like the chart shown below:

P72-11 15 3-72-(2A)-02062023.png

Conditional Formatting for Task Representation

Task Representation can be changed based upon the configuration of the conditional formatting rule. Task Representation has four (4) options: (1) Gantt bar, (2) Milestone at finish, (3) Milestone at start, and (4) Use default.

Click the Task Representation cell to access the dropdown list that has four options then make your selection. The selection appears in the Task Representation cell after the selection is made. Date Labels may or may not be associated with Task Labels. Note that the Columns to show: Advanced radio button is selected because the Task Representation column is an extension to the form. As shown below, when the Task Representation dropdown is clicked, the dropdown with the four options is shown below in the example rule:

P72-11 15 3-72-(3-2)-07192023.png

The illustration above shows the Task Bars tab of the Chart Properties form including the Conditional Formatting for Tasks & Milestones form. The following step sequence can be used to set up conditional formatting for Task Representation:

1) Access the Conditional Formatting for Tasks & Milestones Rules form by clicking the Manage Rules… button pointed to by Step 1 in the illustration above.
2) Clicking the Manage Rules… button accesses the Conditional Formatting for Tasks & Milestones form where the available blank rule is filled in with the desired Field, Operator, and Value at Step 2.
3) Clicking the Task Representation dropdown at Step 3 accesses the dropdown list with four (4) options.
4) The selection is made at Step 4 to select the Milestone at finish option.
5) When the selection is made, the dropdown list is closed. You can continue editing the existing rule, create another rule, or leave the Conditional Formatting for Tasks & Milestones form by clicking the OK button.

Applying the steps described for adding Task Representation to the conditional formatting rule, results in the chart shown below:

P72-11 15 3-72-(3A)-02062023.png

Milestone at Start or Milestone at Finish Selection

When Task Representation is set to Milestone at start or Milestone at finish in a conditional formatting rule, any task bar that satisfies the conditional formatting rule is represented as a milestone shape. Accordingly, the Taskbar Shape cell for the rule is disabled as shown below:

P72-11 15 3-72-(3B-2)-07192023.png

Gantt Bar Selection

When the selected option for Task Representation is Gantt bar in a conditional formatting rule, any milestone symbol in the chart for which the rule is TRUE is not affected by Task Representation. In this case, both the Taskbar Shape and the Milestone Shape cells for the rule are enabled.

Use Default Selection

When the Use default option is selected for Task Representation in a conditional formatting rule, any task bar/milestone symbol for which the condition is TRUE uses the default setting for task representation as established in the Chart Properties or Template Properties form.

Conditional Formatting for Percent Complete in Task Bars

Percent Complete bars in task bars can be shown or hidden and, when shown, are inside the task bar. Percent Complete Labels (numeric values for percent complete associated with task bars and date labels) may or may not be shown with Task Bar Labels. The conditional properties for task bar/milestone symbol Percent Complete bars are: (1) Show or Hide Percent Complete Bar, (2) Change Percent Complete bar color, (3) Show or Hide Incomplete Milestone symbol as Unfilled, (4) Add Checkmark If Complete, and (5) Use defaults.

Important note: In order for the Percent Complete column in the Conditional Formatting for Tasks & Milestones form to be enabled the Percent Complete feature must be turned ON and Applied to the chart from the Chart Properties form's Task Bar or Milestones tab.

Using the standard Conditional Formatting for Tasks & Milestones form, you can create a conditional formatting rule that establishes the conditions under which a data value associated with the task bar/milestone symbol can control the display of any or all of these conditional properties. Note that the Columns to show: Advanced radio button is selected because the Percent Complete column is an extension to the form. Also note that the Task Representation column is set to Gantt bar as the controls for Milestone at finish or Milestone at start exclude the controls for Show %Complete Bar. As shown below, when the Percent Complete cell of a conditional formatting rule is left-clicked, OnePager accesses the Percent Complete form as shown below in the example rule:

P72-11 15 3-72-(3C-2)-07192023.png

The illustration above shows the Task Bars tab of the Chart Properties form including the Conditional Formatting for Tasks & Milestones form, and the Percent Completed form. The following step sequence can be used to set up conditional formatting for Percent Complete bars:

1) Access the Conditional Formatting Rules form by clicking the Manage Rules… button pointed to by Step 1 in the illustration above.
2) Clicking the Manage Rules… button accesses the Conditional Formatting for Tasks & Milestones form where the available blank rule is filled in with the desired Field, Operator, and Value at Step 2.
3) Note that the Task Representation cell is set to Gantt bar to assure that the Percent Complete form is the one associated with task bars at Step 3.
4) The Percent Complete cell is left-clicked at Step 4 to access the Percent Complete form shown above.
5) In the Percent Complete form (Step 5), the Show %Complete Bar checkbox is checked ON if the Percent Complete feature is turned ON in the Chart Properties form or the Template Properties form. Use the controls in the Percent Complete form to check or uncheck the checkboxes and click on the %Complete Bar Color dropdown button to access the OnePager standard Color Chooser form. The Use defaults checkbox restores Percent Complete bars to their default status.
6) Clicking the OK button on the Percent Complete forms closes the form and you can continue editing the existing rule, create another rule, or leave the Conditional Formatting Rules form by clicking the OK button.

Applying the steps described above, results in a modified chart like the chart shown below:

P72-11 15 3-72-(3D)-02202023.png

Conditional Formatting for Percent Complete with Milestone Symbols

Percent Complete bars are not a property of Milestone symbols. However, Percent Complete Labels are available for shown Milestone symbols in the graph. Percent Complete Labels (numeric values for percent complete associated with task bars and date labels) may or may not be shown with Milestone symbol Labels. The conditional properties for Milestone symbol Percent Complete properties are: (1) Show Incomplete Milestone as Unfilled, (2) Add Checkmark If Complete, and (3) Use defaults.

Important note: In order for the Percent Complete column in the Conditional Formatting for Tasks & Milestones form to be enabled the Percent Complete feature must be turned ON and Applied to the chart from the Chart Properties form's Task Bar or Milestones tab.

Using the standard Conditional Formatting for Tasks & Milestones form, you can create a conditional formatting rule that establishes the conditions under which a data value associated with the Milestone symbol can control the display of any or all of these conditional properties. Note that the Columns to show: Advanced radio button is selected because the Percent Complete column is an extension to the form. Also note that the Task Representation column is set to Milestone at start or Milestone at finish because the Percent Complete properties for Milestone at finish or Milestone at start exclude the controls for Show %Complete Bar. As shown below, when the Percent Complete cell of a conditional formatting rule is left-clicked, OnePager accesses the Percent Complete form as shown below in the example rule:

P72-11 15 3-72-(3Y-2)-09012023.png

The illustration above shows the Task Bars tab of the Chart Properties form including the Conditional Formatting for Tasks & Milestones form, and the Percent Completed form. The following step sequence can be used to set up conditional formatting for Percent Complete bars:

1) Access the Conditional Formatting for Tasks & Milestones form by clicking the Manage Rules… button pointed to by Step 1 in the illustration above.
2) Clicking the Manage Rules… button accesses the Conditional Formatting for Tasks & Milestones form where the available blank rule is filled in with the desired Field, Operator, and Value at Step 2.
3) Note that the Task Representation cell is set to Milestone at start to assure that the Percent Complete form is the one associated with milestone symbols at Step 3.
4) The Percent Complete cell is left-clicked at Step 4 to access the Percent Complete form shown above.
5) In the Percent Complete form (Step 5), the Show Incomplete Milestone as Unfilled checkbox is checked ON if the Percent Complete feature is turned ON in the Chart Properties form or the Template Properties form. Use the controls in the Percent Complete form to check or uncheck the checkboxes and click on the Add Checkmark if Complete button to add a checkmark inside the Milestone symbol if the Milestone is 100% complete. The Use defaults checkbox restores Percent Complete bars to their default status.
6) Clicking the OK button on the Percent Complete forms closes the form and you can continue editing the existing rule, create another rule, or leave the Conditional Formatting for Tasks & Milestones Rules form by clicking the OK button.

Applying the steps described above, results in a modified chart like the chart shown below:

P72-11 15 3-72-(3U)-0615023.png

Note: The %Complete cell is DISABLED when the %Complete feature is OFF globally for both Task Bars and Milestone Symbols.

Conditional Formatting for Baselines

Baseline bars for task bars/milestone symbols can be shown or hidden and, when shown, are below the task bar/milestone symbol. Baseline date Labels (date values for baseline bars associated with task bars and milestone symbols) may or may not be shown with Task Bar Labels. The conditional properties for task bar/milestone symbol Baseline bars are: (1) Show or Hide Baseline Bars, (2) Change the Shape of Baseline bars, (3) Change the Color of Baseline Bars, and (4) Use defaults.

Important note: In order for the Baselines column in the Conditional Formatting for Tasks & Milestones form to be enabled the Baselines feature must be turned ON and Applied to the chart from the Chart Properties form's Task Bar or Milestones tab.

The Configure Baselines Properties form provides conditional formatting controls for task bars and milestone symbols. Using the standard Conditional Formatting for Tasks & Milestones form, you can create a conditional formatting rule that establishes the conditions under which a data value associated with the task bar/milestone symbol can control the display of any or all of these conditional properties. Note that the Columns to show: Advanced radio button is selected because the Baselines column is an extension to the form. As shown below, when the Baselines cell of a conditional formatting rule is left-clicked, OnePager accesses the Configure Baselines Properties form as shown below in the example rule:

P72-11 15 3-72-(3E-2)-07192023.png

The illustration above shows the Task Bars tab of the Chart Properties form including the Conditional Formatting form, and the Configure Baselines Properties form. The following step sequence can be used to set up conditional formatting for Baseline bars:

1) Access the Conditional Formatting Rules form by clicking the Manage Rules… button pointed to by Step 1 in the illustration above.
2) Clicking the Manage Rules… button accesses the Conditional Formatting for Tasks & Milestones form where the available blank rule is filled in with the desired Field, Operator, and Value at Step 2.
3) The Baselines cell is left-clicked at Step 3 to access the Configure Baselines Properties form shown above.
4) The Configure Baselines Properties form is composed of two control groups with identical controls. The top control group (Step 4) contains the controls for Taskbar Baselines and the bottom control group (Step 5) contains the controls for Milestone Baselines. In the Configure Baselines Properties form, the Show checkboxes are checked ON if the Baselines feature is turned ON in the Chart Properties form or the Template Properties form. The three controls in each control group are: (1) Show or Hide Taskbar/Milestone Baselines, (2) Change the Shape of the Taskbar/Milestone Baselines, (3) Change the Color of the Taskbar/Milestone Baselines, and, at the bottom of the Configure Baselines Properties form, is the Use Defaults checkbox. The Taskbar/Milestone Baselines Shape dropdown buttons access their respective list of Shapes or the Shapes Chooser form in the case of Milestone Baseline Shapes.
5) Clicking the OK button on the Configure Baselines Properties form closes the form and you can continue editing the existing rule, create another rule, or leave the Conditional Formatting for Tasks & Milestones form by clicking the OK button.

Applying the steps described above, results in a modified chart like the chart shown below:

P72-11 15 3-72-(3F)-02202023.png

Note: The Baseline column is DISABLED when Baselines are turned OFF globally for both Task Bars and Milestone Symbols.

Conditional Formatting for Critical Segments

Critical Segment bars can be shown or hidden and, when shown, are inside and at the top of the task bar. Milestone symbols do not contain critical segments. The conditional properties for task bars Critical Segments are: (1) Show or Hide Critical-path segments, (2) Change Critical-path color, and (3) Use defaults.

Important note: In order for the Critical Segments column in the Conditional Formatting for Tasks & Milestones form to be enabled the Critical-Path Segments feature must be turned ON and Applied to the chart from the Chart Properties form's Task Bar or Milestones tab.

Using the standard Conditional Formatting for Tasks & Milestones form, you can create a conditional formatting rule that establishes the conditions under which a data value associated with the task bar/milestone symbol can control the display of any or all of these conditional properties. Note that the Columns to show: Advanced radio button is selected because the Critical Segments column is an extension to the form. As shown below, when the Critical Segments cell of a conditional formatting rule is left-clicked, OnePager accesses the Critical Segments form as shown below in the example rule:

P72-11 15 3-72-(3G-2)-07192023.png

The illustration above shows the Task Bars tab of the Chart Properties form including the Conditional Formatting for Tasks & Milestones form, and the Critical Segments form. The following step sequence can be used to set up conditional formatting for Critical Segments:

1) Access the Conditional Formatting for Tasks & Milestones form by clicking the Manage Rules… button pointed to by Step 1 in the illustration above.
2) Clicking the Manage Rules… button accesses the Conditional Formatting for Tasks & Milestones form where the available blank rule is filled in with the desired Field, Operator, and Value at Step 2.
3) The Critical Segments cell is left-clicked at Step 3 to access the Critical Segments form shown above.
4) In the Critical Segments form, the Show %Complete Bar checkbox is checked ON if the Critical-Segments feature is turned ON in the Chart Properties form or the Template Properties form. Use the controls in the Critical Segments form to check or uncheck the checkboxes and click on the Critical-path color dropdown button to access the OnePager standard Color Chooser form. The Use defaults checkbox restores Critical-path Segments to their default status.
5) Clicking the OK button on the Percent Complete forms closes the form and you can continue editing the existing rule, create another rule, or leave the Conditional Formatting for Tasks & Milestones Rules form by clicking the OK button..

Applying the steps described above, results in a modified chart like the chart shown below:

P72-11 15 3-72-(3H)-02202023.png

Conditional Formatting for Deadlines & Endpoints

Deadlines and Endpoints are decorations that can add more information to the task bar. Using these decorations with conditional formatting rules enhances the amount of information that can be associated with the task bar. As with all task bars OnePager supports one deadline decoration and four (4) endpoint decorations. Endpoints are not associated with milestone symbols. For each of these five (5) decorations you have the option to select a shape and a color in most instances. As a note, whenever an emoji shape is selected, the color selection option is disabled.

Using the standard Conditional Formatting for Tasks & Milestones form, you can create a conditional formatting rule that establishes the conditions under which a data value associated with the task bar/milestone symbol can control the display of these conditional properties. Note that the Columns to show: Advanced radio button is selected because the Deadlines & Endpoints column is an extension to the form. As shown below, when the Deadlines & Endpoints cell of a conditional formatting rule is left-clicked, OnePager accesses the Configure Deadline and Endpoint Properties form as shown below in the example rule:

P72-11 15 3-72-(3I-2)-07192023.png

The illustration above shows the Task Bars tab of the Chart Properties form including the Conditional Formatting for Tasks & Milestones form, and the Configure Deadline and Endpoint Properties form.

3) The Deadlines & Endpoints cell is left-clicked at Step 3 to access the Configure Deadline and Endpoint Properties form shown above.
4) In the Configure Deadline and Endpoint Properties form, the Show checkbox is checked ON if the Deadline and/or Endpoint feature is turned ON in the Chart Properties form or the Template Properties form. Use the controls in the Configure Deadline and Endpoint Properties form to check or uncheck the checkboxes, click the Shape dropdown to access Shape Chooser form, and click on the Custom color dropdown button to access the OnePager standard Color Chooser form. Note that if you select an Emoji shape from the Shape Chooser form, the Custom color dropdown is disabled. The Use defaults checkbox restores Critical-path Segments to their default status.
5) Clicking the OK button on the Configure Deadline and Endpoint Properties form closes the form and you can continue editing the existing rule, create another rule, or leave the Conditional Formatting for Tasks & Milestones form by clicking the OK button.

Applying the steps described above, results in a modified chart like the chart shown below:

P72-11 15 3-72-(3J)-03172023.png

Conditional Formatting for Legend Text

Legend text can be changed based upon the configuration of the conditional formatting rule. Typically the text shown in the Legend is taken from the task bar/milestone symbol’s name label. The Conditional Formatting for Tasks & Milestones form can be used to place specifically desired text strings in the legend text position for a legend item depending on the results of a conditional formatting rule. Note that the Legend Text column is available in the Basic and Advanced Columns to show: options of the form. The following step sequence can be used to set up conditional formatting for Legend text:

P72-11 15 3-72-(3Z-2)-07192023.png
1) Access the Conditional Formatting for Tasks & Milestones form by clicking the Manage Rules… button pointed to by Step 1 in the illustration above.
2) Clicking the Manage Rules… button accesses the Conditional Formatting for Tasks & Milestones form where the available blank rule is filled in with the desired Field, Operator, and Value at Step 2.
3) Clicking the Legend text cell at Step 3 enables the cell to accept type inputs. Once enabled, type the desired legend text into the cell.
4) After completing the legend text entry action, you can continue editing the existing rule, create another rule, or leave the Conditional Formatting for Tasks & Milestones form by clicking the OK button.

Applying the steps described for adding Legend text to the conditional formatting rule, results in the chart shown below:

P72-11 15 3-72-(3Y)-02082023.png

Conditional Formatting for Priority

The Priority column is set and mostly managed by OnePager. That is, each time you add a new rule to the Conditional Formatting for Tasks & Milestones form, OnePager increments the value in the Priority Action cell by one (1) starting at zero (0) for the first rule in the Conditional Formatting for Tasks & Milestones form. If several rules are in competition to set a particular conditional formatting property (i.e., color, border, etc.), the rule with the LOWEST Priority number has priority over all the others. Note that the Priority column is available in the Basic and Advanced Columns to show: options of the form.

In the illustration below, there are three (3) Conditional Formatting for Tasks & Milestones rules entered from top to bottom in the form where OnePager has entered the Priority value as each rule is entered from zero (0) through two (2):

P72-11 15 3-72-(3X-2)-07192023.png

When the above set of Conditional Formatting for Tasks & Milestones rules is applied, the chart looks like this:

P72-11 15 3-72-(3W)-02082023.png

You can change the values in the Priority column at any time after the rule is completely defined by clicking on the Priority cell and entering any positive numeric value including zero (0). In this way you can define several identical condition formatting rules and use the Priority cells with different values to control their priority manually to achieve a desired result as shown in the example below:

P72-11 15 3-72-(3V-2)-07192023.png

With the change in priority, the revised chart looks like this:

P72-11 15 3-72-(3U)-02082023.png
