Creating & Editing Data Cells In OnePager Charts for Version 8.0
Introduction
Illustrations used in this article are from OnePager Pro Add-in and Standalone using data from Microsoft Project, however, Graphs & Data Cells features, functions, controls, and editing apply equally to other OnePager Add-in and Standalone editions that import from data sources like Microsoft Excel, Smartsheet, Oracle Primavera P6, Planisware Enterprise, Asana, and Wrike. At present Microsoft Project Planner source plans do not provide time-series data that can be processed and displayed by the Graphs & Data Cells feature of OnePager.
This article describes the methodologies and techniques for creating Data Cells using the OnePager premium Graphs & Data Cells feature. Data Cells in OnePager are created from time-series fields (columns) imported from your source plan.
Creating Data Cells
You have a great deal of flexibility when creating data cells with OnePager. The Template Properties form, discussed below overviews the properties you can control when creating displays in the graph areas.
Data Cell Panels
You have the option to create up to three Panels in the graph areas to display Data Cell time-series. Each Data Cells Panel has its own Display as checkbox, so any or all of the three Data Cells Panels may be displayed in the graph areas. Each Panel supports one “Series”. The Panel sub-tabs are highlighted in the Template Properties form for Data Cells in the illustration shown below:

As shown in the Template Properties form above, there are three Panels for graphs and one “Series” for data cells.
Data Cells Panel Position Controls
For each Panel where you plan to display Data Cells, you can locate the Panel at the top of the Chart Area or below the Chart Area, specify the time unit in the graph area’s Data Cells, and specify the Data Cell Height of the Panel in inches or centimeters. The controls for these properties are directly below the Panel sub-tabs as shown here:

A sample document showing three Data Cell Panels at the top of the Chart, using the Quarter as the time unit, and a Data Cell Height of 0.5 inches is shown below:

Checking ON the Data Cells Panel’s Display as check box automatically enables the display of Data Cells in the Graph Areas.
Data Cells Data Source(s) Control Group
Each Data Cell’s Data Source(s) control group has one Series of controls. This Series is always turned ON when a Data Cell’s Panel’s Display as checkbox is turned ON. To show an example, the illustration below has the Display as checkbox checked ON for Data Cells Panel #1:

The Panel for Data Cells has four (4) controls. These controls allow you to specify the Field from the source plan that is used to create Data Cells and how that source plan data are manipulated before the Data Cells are displayed (Cumulative, Interpolation, and Include) in the graph area.
A complete discussion of the Data Source(s) control group’s controls can be found in the article found at the link below:
Data Cells Formatting Control Group
Each Data Cells Panel has an associated Formatting control group with controls for formatting and editing the Data Cell’s label and the properties of the data cells values themselves, and for associating symbols with numbered formats. These controls are covered in the sub-sections to follow.
Font Sub-Control Group
Clicking the download arrow on the Font control accesses the standard Font properties form that has controls for editing the type of font used for the Data Cell’s label, the font’s color, size, and for making the font Bold, Italic, or Underline. The Font properties form is shown in the illustration that follows below:

Data Cell Formatting Sub-Control Group
Clicking the Data Cell Formatting button access the Data Cell Formatting – Panel #n form for the Panel sub-tab currently shown in the Chart Properties form’s Graphs & Data Cells tab. The Data Cell Formatting – Panel #1 form is shown below:

The Data Cell Formatting – Panel #n form is shown in more detail below:

The three control groups in the above form are described as follows:
- Custom Title: The Custom Title control group has controls for turning the Data Cell’s Panel Title ON and OFF and two controls for either making the Title automatically from the source plan field (column) name or by creating a Data Cell Panel text of your own to be displayed. Additionally, the Font dropdown provides access to the standard Font properties form discussed previously. Finally, there are controls for the alignment of Data Cell Label text, rotating the Data Cell’s Labels 90 degrees and 270 degrees, and a Title Background color dropdown control for access the OnePager Standard Color Chooser form.
- Data Format: This control group provides standard controls for editing the contents of the Data Cells themselves. These controls consist of the standard Font properties form’s controls accessed by clicking the Font dropdown. Finally, there are controls for the alignment of Data Cell Values and rotating the Data Cell’s Values 90 degrees and 270 degrees.
- Cell Format: The third control group in the form provides standard controls for creating and editing the top and bottom borders of the Data Cell’s Panel and for setting and editing the Background Color(s) of the Data Cells in the Panel by accessing the OnePager Standard Color chooser form. There are two color controls, Color 1 and Color 2 which can be used for alternating Data Cell colors horizontally. Vertical borders between Data Cells is provided by the settings in the Chart Properties form’s Time Axis tab’s Top Level, Middle Level, and Bottom Level sub-tab’s Formatting control group’s Borders sub-control group.
As mentioned earlier, there is a corresponding Data Cell Formatting - Panel #n form for each Data Cell Panel.
Data Cell Formatting Number Formats Control Group
The Number Formats control group can be used to format values in Data Cells that contain currency values, work values, or percentage values. Additionally, you have options for separating groups of numeral, specifying the number of decimal places, and applying a multiplier to numerical values. The dropdown lists for the 1000 separators, Symbols, and Multipliers are shown in the two illustrations provided below:

Editing Data Cells
Once a Chart is created with Graph and/or Data Cell Panels using the creation techniques available with the Template Properties and Chart Properties forms, it is easy to make edits to the Chart and the Graph Areas using these same tools. Making edits to existing Graph and/or Data Cells Panel is only a manner of accessing the current Chart Properties form, navigating to the Graphs/Data Cells tab, selecting the desired Panel and/or Series and using the controls to select alternative settings. You may have to access the available sub-forms to edit Y-Axes, X-Axes, the Graph Legend, Graph Border settings, and value formats. These sub-forms are all available from the Graphs/Data Cells tab.
Summary
This article describes the controls available on the on the Chart Properties form’s Graphs & Data Cells tab when the selected Panel is in Data Cells mode. There are three Panels available for Data Cells mode, labeled Panel #1, Panel #2, and Panel #3. Each Panel has the capability to support one time-series set of Data Cells per Panel. In Data Cells mode, the Graphs & Data Cells tab has all the controls necessary for creating a Data Cells in the Chart either above the Chart Area or below the Chart Area.
